I went to a local Goodwill and scored something quite unusual. At least I have never seen a controller like this. The item had connectors that could plug into an Xbox or PS2. The cords then went into a small rectange box with no copyright or anything on it saying what it was. This box had two red buttons on the top...one for back/select, and one for start. There also looks to be a place for two memory cards slots for the xbox. The confusing thing is that in the middle of these to memory card slots looks to be a place for a monitor cable? I will try to send pics(i suck at making pics fit on this site). Any info would be helpful

Dunno, my first though was some sort of VGA box, but the buttons/card slots don't sound like anything I've ever seen released to the public.

Pics would help, and keep in mind that if you host at ImageShack (http://www.imageshack.us) that they will automatically resize a picture to a thumbnail that can be clicked on for a full version.

Sounds like you saw a control box for a metal DDR pad. Did it look sort of like this?:
