But for good times sakes, for me it's a toss up between the Wii and Xbox 360, more than likely though it won't be for another couple years and I'd prefer to continue buying parts for my new computer. :)

Playstation 3 for me. I can't wait to play Metal Gear Solid 4 and the up and coming Final Fantasy for the system. I do feel like the launch was solid and there are already several games I would like to pick up. Plus it would be nice to get the most expensive out of the way first.

I had a DS at launch, I got a PSP last spring, had my first XBox 360 game for xmas last year, got a Wii at launch and got a 360 for xmas. Other than a PS3 I think i've got em all so I don't know what else to say.

Xbox 360, once it gets more interesting games and becomes more affordable (both games and console). Wii will probably be a while before I pick it up. I have to see how much third party support it'll get (I got burned by buying the gamecube with its paltry amount of 3rd party titles). Ps3 will be the same as the xbox 360 (titles and price). For now, I'm more than content with what I have.

already got a wii and 360. got hte wii on launch day and got the 360 for xmas (my best friend and i split for it, cause it is kinda pricey).

i had a ps3 for about a day, till i decided its too expensive for me to keep without me actually wanting anything that bad on it, so i gave it to my friend for its retail price i paid.

It's all about the Wii for me. I really can't wait to see what else the Wii will have to offer as far as games goes in the future.
With Mario being my favorite fun value franchise I really can't miss out on Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros. Brawl, and I'm sure a Kart game, maybe a Mario Party, and some Mario sports as well. Not to mention Twilight Princess which I am refusing to play on the GC so that I can experience it on the Wii when I finally track one down.

I gained a whopping 50 pounds whilst at university (Freshman 15 my ass - more like freshmen 50)

So, I am currently down 10 pounds since Christmas, and I want to be down to what I weighed when starting university for when I leave university. As my "treat" for doing such, I am going to buy myself a congrats present for both losing the weight and finishing university.

Plus your comparing a premium 360 to a gimped PS3... the difference is more like $200 and one actually has games while the other has Gundam Crossfire which I haven't been able to determine WTF it is...

BTW, as if it's not obvious, Wii for me! :) Then 360. PS3 not an option, unless they pull out something spectacular and just short of a miracle from The Kaz's arse hole. At worst they will make Sega's demise look like good fortune and at best they are going to get their asses kicked and bring something worthwhile to the table next go. They've already started talking about PS4, hell, they started that last October if I recall correctly. It's insane! :o

Because i dont live in the USA and i wont pay $800 - $850 to buy a console to play 2-3 games that only half interest me. I live in Europe, only the 60GB will be avalible to start with, and the price where i live will starts at around $800. Good enough answer for why i want to wait for a pricedrop? hehe.

Even if i lived in USA it still wont change the facts that its only $100 between the 2 consoles. Some people say the 360 price is fine, but the PS3 price is insane. So i just wanted to point out that difference is actually $100, in other words, not that much. It doesnt mean its cheap or that people should rush out to buy one, but the difference is smaller than people actually realize.

Gimped model? Nah, the only difference between the 20GB and the 60GB model is that the 60GB model got 60GB (obviously, lol), built-in WiFi and the possibility to read Memory Stick/SD cards/CompactFlash cards. If you dont have wireless you dont need Wifi and i really dont see the huge use of the memorycard reading. So you can fine use a 20GB model if you dont need these 2 things. You can change the HDD to whatever 2.5 HDD later on if you wish that. So, its not really gimped/stripped hehe ;)

The difference between the core and premium on 360 is bigger, since here you dont get an "essencial" part, the 20GB HDD. I'd say this is needed to enjoy the 360 at full. You also wont get the wireless controller, the headset, an ethernet cable or the component cable. So the core version is much more gimped than the PS3 20GB version.

If you buy a 360 core model you're very limited to what you can do, but if you buy a PS3 20GB model you can do exactly the same as the 60GB model (except the wifi and memory card reading, not really too important compared to what you miss on the 360 core).

I already have the 360 and the PS3 so I'll be getting the Wii next. I don't plan on getting it until it hits 100 or less though. I know I've paid a lot for the other systems, but I have no interest in playing the Wii, so that's why I'll wait. Most people on this thread keep saying the Wii, but everyone I know that has one has quit playing it after the first couple weeks of having it.
