Hey gang!

In honor of St. Patty's Day, I decided to throw together a little Giveaway Contest for the folks who frequent DP! The prize is the Videogame Commercial Archive Vol. 2 (http://home.xnet.com/~skelly/video.htm) produced by Sean Kelly. (If you don't already have this, race out and get one! It's the holy grail of videogame video collectables!)

Anyway, I will send this great video to one lucky contest winner who can tell me the following: "Who am I?" I'm at work right now and I have a photograph of someone hanging up outside of my cubicle. Tell me who is on that photo, and you win! A few clues:
1. It's a still from a movie.
2. It's the name of the character this person's playing that has personal meaning to me.
3. Knowing "me" may help you deduce who "they" are.

Post your guesses within this thread. Only one guess per person please. If you guess more than once, you will be out of the running - even if you guess correctly. However, I will occassionally visit this thread to see if we have a winner. If no one has figured it out yet, I'll clear all previous guesses and allow those who have guessed before take a second guess. I may also drop more clues as the day goes on. (I love to slide subtle hints into these messages too.) Stay tuned to this thread to see how it pans out.

So......who am I?

I don't suppose the answer is Spiderman ?

Nah, that'd be too easy....

Or would it?

Hmmm......

I don't suppose the answer is Spiderman ?

Nah, that'd be too easy....

Or would it?

But if it were a picture of Spiderman then the name he's looking for would probably be Tobey Maguire. So that's my guess.

Cool!

OK TIM. Here's my guess. Since it's of significance to you and I know nothing about Urology Times and the video game world is just too big to pinpoint, I'm going to go with something obvious. Your name. Now it could be a Spider-man reference but my brain simply clicked onto:

"There are some who call me.... TIM?"

That quote from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. So my guess is John Cleese, who played Tim the Enchanter.

Sweet Jesus in the morning! It was the "holy grail" ref in the first message, wasn't it? :D

Welp, DP himself SOMEHOW first figured out that I gots John Cleese as Tim the Enchanter from MP and THG hanging up outside my cubey and wins the vid. Well, THAT was fast. :/

My first name is "Tim" and pictures outside my office have included Tim Taylor, Tim Conway, Timmy from South Park, Timmy Turner from the Fairly Oddparents, Tim Curry from "Rocky Horror" and Tim the Enchanter as my "current Tim."

If DP will PM me his address, I'll drop this in the mail to him. And my next "throw-together" contest will ask folks to calculate the end value of pi or something...

Nah... I'll defer the prize to the next contest (or to FABombjoy who was just a minute behind me).

Can you do another one instead? That was too easy!

Yea, the "what is your real name" thread gave it away :-D

Holy cow! There were only 3 responses when I hit the reply button. I didn't even catch the 'grail' reference... I was just guessing :) I didn't even see that digitalpress had replied either. I just hit 'post' and went to lunch.

Good try Mayhem, and - for the record - IJ and the Last Crusade is my favorite Indy flick. Even better than Raiders, I feel. :-D
