Donkey Kong Blue Barrels

Hi all, I was playing Donkey Kong earlier today and was reminded of a question I've had ever since it came out. On the first level some of the barrels are blue. Why is that? Are they worth more points or behave differently? I didn't notice any difference...

Those barrels are called beams and everytime one falls into the flaming oil barrel on the bottom of the screen they turn into a fireball.

I got that info once upon a time from one of those how to win at video games books.

Mario was called Jumpman
The girl in the game you are saving was Pauline, Mario's girlfriend, and when Princess Toadstool (Peach) came to be Pauline was officially changed to his neice.

Yeah dude. When they hit the bottom of the screen, they turn into fireballs. Alls you had to do was watch :p
