Salutations my good video game collectors! I said it would be a while until I did my next convention, but I was wrong! The pang of convention organizing has hit me once more, and this April 15th will be the birth of Too Many Games!

Too Many Games gets back to the foundation of gaming conventions. For anyone who came out for the first East Coast Gaming Expo way back in 2004, Too Many Games is going to bring back that atmosphere of casualness. People can just come in, hang out, play some games, shop around in the marketplace, catch up with old friends, and not have to pay a cent to do so.

Too Many Games will be free admission! We feel that going with no admission cost opens the doors to a larger amount of people to come in and join the fun and meet others in the game playing and collecting communities!

If you have a huge pile of extra gear you'd like to part with, or if you're the artistic type who would like to sell some of your video game themed art, we offer vendor tables at prices that can't be beat! $20 gets you your own little slice of the Too Many Games marketplace! Anyone who does an exclusive homebrew game release (console or handheld) at Too Many Games gets their table for 50% off!

Check out the official Too Many Games website, conveniently located at www.toomanygames.com for more info on the show, events planned, pics of prior events, and all sorts of other goodies!

This is great news. I am looking forward to the show! Is that the week after or the week before Easter?

It's the week following Easter. I made sure that I didn't get the Sunday that Easter fell on, I figured that may hurt attendance just a hair. 8*)

I worked with Chuck on ECGXpo for many years. We poured our hearts and souls into those events.

Chuck was always the biggest part of those shows (even in the literal sense) and if you're really a gamer and into gaming you should head on over to Too Many Games.

Seriously, this event and this guy are so worthy of your support!

I know I've wished this to you privately Chuck, but best of luck!

Good, I'm glad another event is coming up. I had to miss ECGX because of last minute family obligations.

Sweet! The first show was awesome... not that the last two were bad, but there was something especially cool about the first one. Hopefully this year will be great. I see you've got 5000 sq. ft... is that the same room as the first year, or bigger like the second year?

Do you have anybody lined up for bringing arcade games yet? I'll try to bring a game/pin or two, it'll just depend on whether I can get the van or not... just wondering if you've got a bunch lined up like when Todd brought all those mini cabs.

Unfortunately I can't con...vince anyone to bring machines this year. 8*) Maybe Challenge Arcade will let us borrow a machine or two. If you're willing to bring cabs I'm willing to make space for 'em. 8*) Let me know as soon as you can so I can update the floorplan.

I have no idea if I will be doing anything that day, but if I'm free I'll take the trip. It's only 2 hours, no biggie.

Sure... I can bring a cab or two... I wish I had a box truck or something, I'd bring a dozen :P . Is it gonna be tight like the first year or more spread out like the second? I mean... if I could convince other people to bring cabs, would there be room? :) And have you talked to MikeyDee (that's his user name on another forum, maybe here too) about bringing the Marble Madness and Food Fight again?

I can probably make room for up to 10 to 12 coin-ops. If you know anyone who's willing to bring down a couple cabs, by all means go ahead and ask them! 8*)

For anyone who's interested, I'm pretty sure I have a final floorplan now. You can check it out to see who's going to be where. Print out a copy and bring it with you to know where you favorite vendors will be, or see who's new to this year's event.

The floorplan's available at

you should go anyways. if you stay your just enabaling the insanity. she will get over it but if you don't go you can look forward to a life of feminist domination.

seriously though, go anyways.

Are you really expecting that much Magic? That seems like a lot of space reserved for that, although I've never played it, so I don't really know how much space you need.

That's typically the space we used for the Magic tournaments we've held previously at The Inn at Reading. We're actually hoping that will be enough space.

I'll bring one or two games... I think I can probably get one pinball and an arcade fully inside my van. If I get my Terminator 2 pin fixed by then maybe I'll bring that, along with a Tempest, or maybe Street Fighter 3, Star Wars, or 720.

Oh... and I PM'd the guy who brought the MM and FF last year to see if he's coming again this year.

Heh, you're not gonna like this year's setup then. 8*)

I've left room on the floorplan for anyone who intends to bring coin-ops. I'm pretty sure at the very least my boss is going to lend us his tabletop PlayChoice 10 machine. (http://www.klov.com/images/11/1102078391.jpg one of these)

Next event is tentatively scheduled for August 26th, 2007. Keep your peepers posted to www.toomanygames.com after this weekend's event for the next convention!

I'm in the middle of packing for the show.

-Bringing about 100 games for $1 a piece
-DIRT CHEAP japanese systems (mega CD, mega drive, neo geo)
-lots of domestic stuff from my personal collection
-Really weird classic stuff that my neighbor gave me that I will be practically giving away.

oh, and lots of imports priced well below my eBay prices because Chuck keeps the show cheap for vendors :)

Pretty good show overall, I was suprised with the foot traffic. I got ahold of some random things like a 3d saturn pad, DDR konamix, and Samba De Amigo.

What was weird was how some people priced their things, vendors like "Meat" had great pricing, while a few others... ehh.. it was pretty even between the two.

Great stuff though, anybody see me? I had a black zip up shirt on and was most likely on my phone.

Thanks for coming to the event and buying a Saturn 3D Pad and DDR Konamix off me. 8*) If you haven't guessed, I was "Meat." 8*)

Those who don't know, all my games are priced with stickers that have Meat printed on them. I bought my pricing guns second hand and those stickers were already loaded (apparently from a grocery store) and I figured I'd just use 'em and let my customers get a cheap laugh out of 'em. 8*)

I had stupendous prices on all my stuff, $45 for a top loader NES, $50 for a Jag CD, quality NES games for $8, Saturn 3D Pads CIB for $5, PSX rarities for $8 and $10. I sold a shit pile. Glad I finally decided to sell at my convention rather than just organize! 8*)

All the vendors were extremely happy with the day over all, and all the attendees looked like they were having a blast as well! The Cola Invaders tournament was quite heated, I believe the top score was 10,200 or so. A free copy of the game was given as a prize. Guitar Hero was going non-stop all day, as well as Wii Sports. We gave out $50 in Microplay store credit for our 2v2 Halo 2 tournament, and a 2000 Wii Points card for our Wii Sports Tennis event. Our Magic: The Gathering tournament was still going on long after the convention ended and the prize money given was $160, the top 4 players decided to split the cash pool.

The next event is tentatively planned for August 26, but could possibly be the first Sunday of September. Keep your peepers posted to www.toomanygames.com and we'll keep everyone informed about the upcoming show!
