Is it just me or is there something somehow similar with these games? Maybe it's the art styles or the music or presentation but man they seem like they could practically have the same art team or be in the same universe or something. I'll not get into the whole OMG SCURGE IS A METROID RIPOFF stuff here either.

game: developer, publisher, rating
Sigma Star: Wayforward, Namco/Atari, E10+
Rebelstar: Codo Games, Namco/Atari, E10+
Scurge: Orbital Media, Inc., SouthPeak Interactive, E10+

They all are in a futuristic/space/aliens setting. They all have anime-esque-but-probably-drawn-by-a-westerner character art. Sigma Star and Scurge have pretty similar artistic styles going on in the sprites and backgrounds. Rebelstar and Sigma Star are at least "packaged" together promotionally by Namco, as they advertise each other in their manuals, and have similar box logos (shiny metallic letters). They even both have some gamespot E3 editor's choice finalist stamp on them.

I looked through the credits listed in all three games and didn't see any names repeated. So far as I can tell, these games DON'T have any sort of connection other than a couple having promotional ties. They all appear to be US/Euro developed too so it can't be a classic import namechange deal.

Anyone else think these games have some sort of stylistic link? Maybe it's all just in my head...
