Dunno if this has been posted before (I've never heard of it), but I hope you can shed some light on this. My PSP loves to just randomly shutoff without warning suring gameplay. I'm starting to think it's just certain games, but I dunno. It's almost like when I sometimes hit the square or X buttons, it's light's out. I noticed it happening many times in a row on one certain jump right near the beginning of 3-1 in Ultimate Ghosts and Goblins. I thought maybe it was because I pressed the buttons too hard, but I could never replicate it on purpose.

Is this a known glitch? Is it the battery contact coming loose? Is it something on the motherboard? Is it fixable?

Thanks!

I've accidently held the power switch to turn it off while playing and didn't relize it a bunch of times. Watch where your hand is next time to see if u aint doing the same thing.

Even if I hit the power switch, it would just go into standby. ANother quick press of the switch would turn it right back on. Besides, my hands are too big and never really touch the sides. It definitely wasn't the power switch. Like I said, it only happens on certain games, and often at certain points or very close to them. On top of this, I already thought of that and confirmed my hand was not touching the switch.

Some research on google showed me that Sony knows of this seemingly random power off glitch and will repair it under warranty (mine's not under), and it is indeed a hardware issue, but I have not found any explanation as to what they fix.
