Okay, I've made a great little discovery. It involves the following three ingredients:

1 - MESS Emulator
2 - Robotron for Atari 7800
3 - An XBox 360 joypad

On the Atari 7800 emulator, you can map the 360's second analog stick as the second-player controller. You can use Microsoft's joypad, or any of the third-parties'. You don't need to buy the "PC version" which comes with a disk, but you'll need to download a driver from Microsoft's website.

Now you can play 7800 Robotron, with two sticks, on the same joypad! It works perfectly and plays like a dream. I think I doubled my high score on my last game, and I'll probably go back for a few more tries. NOW this game freakin' rocks! Just wanted to pass that along. Happy hunting!

You can also do the same thing with MAME and a PS2 controller as well (or XBox 360, whichever you prefer). IMO, those two joystick games just simply cannot be played on the keyboard or a pad.

Hah...awesome, dude. Yeah, that game was meant for two sticks.

Just about any PC compatible pad wth two sticks will work though, right?

I would guess so. I have two more joypads (non-XBox), so I could always plug one in and see what happens. Give it a try and hope for the best :)
