NUON Samsung DVD-N501

So, I just bought this thing. (I am a sucker for the obsecure).

Anyhow, I was wondering, does anyone know if it will play DVD-Rs?

Yes I do believe it does. I have a complete US Nuon collection including the Nuon Demo Disc from Nuon-dome. The N501 is the one version of the Nuon to own.

yhea i think your right. i was reading a review from some guy that said it wouldn't play DVD-R's but a few other more technical sources i seen says it does

Let me double-check that everything works with a few test DVD-Rs. I mean, I'm 92.7% positive I've played DVD-R on it before, but I'll retest just to be sure.

I know it plays CDRs, but DVD-Rs are iffier... I look forward to your re-test.

Whoops - forgot about this :)

I did try the "Odyssey on DVD" in it - which worked fine, but I'm not sure if that's a -R or +R. I'll see if I can remember to try a confirmed -R.
