mega drive game recommendations

thinking of getting a genisis modded with a region switch but i have no idea what good jp exclusive mega drive games are out there. my favorite genre is rpg's but knowing next to no japanese thats a problem so can anyone reccomend any good import friendly mega drive games? any shumps or side scrollers stand out?
