I've been considering opening my own gaming store within' the next few years. I was wondering if anyone who may have some experience in the field so that I could get some info on whats involved with running the buisiness and what kind of paperwork & fees need to be filed. ANYTHING anyone can tell me about it.

Yeah, don't go it alone, you need a mentor of sorts (which Nick and Joe both had). If you don't already have a friend who owns a store, make one.

This is something I've contemplated for a couple years now. I have most of the inventory. Have made solid business plans. Went to small business counselling type services. I do really well at flea markets. But I just don't have the collateral for a loan. If anyone has any creative ways to get startup capital then I'm all ears.

Lots of market research about where would be a good spot for your store

Maybe if you're really lucky Gamestop will buy you out.

Two things:
1) Scope out the local stores both chain and independant, pay attention to their niche in the area and see how you can exploit them to make better business than them.
2) Make your place an enjoyable place to visit, friendly and helpful to those that are new and old to gaming and collecting. Always remember there can be someone out there that knows more than you about something so don't piss on them if they seem to brag, rather attempt to congradulate them and change the subject slowly, you don't want to look like an ass from the standpoint of other customers.
