I was just experimenting with an old NES, trying to get it working...
Did you know if you have one Nintendo NES, plugged up and ready to play, and another NES that has no power supply, you can plug an NES Advantage's P1 cable into one of them, P2 cable into the other, and turn on the powered NES, the other one will power up too! Now you can plug one NES' video into the TV, and the other NES' audio into the stereo, and listen to Metroid's title screen music while you play Legend of Zelda.
Finally... we have an answer to the age old problem of having 2 TVs, 2 NES systems and only one NES power supply. This discovery will end the console wars, and open up new doors of discovery for the thousands of people who want to play 2 NESs at the same time when they only have one power supply.
...The dawn of a new era has begun.

Or of course I can play the theme song from a MP3 player plugged into a stereo system, but whatever floats your boat. :)

That it then. Game over, Microsoft. You're history, Sony. The 8-bit has returned!

Um.. I really don't think that's healthy for the NES, if I'm thinking correctly (and I know I'm probably not since I'm half asleep) you're feeding the NES +5v through pin 5. Now that I read that it doesn't seem right, but it's something like that, one of the other tech people will step in I'm sure.

Pah, to hell with the naysayers. There will always be people who want to rain on the latest ground-breaking technological advancements. Wah, cell phones cause cancer. Wah, TV's are bad for your eyes. Wah, the internet is destroying our youth. Wah, the 2 TV's, 2 NES's, 1 power supply trick gives you hepatitis.

§ Gideon § has hepatitis? Wah?
Anyway, cool discovery! I'm not totally sure how useful it is just yet, but it's pretty cool nonetheless. There's got to be some more creative hacks/uses for this...

Ohmygod! If you short the Player 1/2 switch on the Advantage you could play two games at the same time!! Ah! hoo... I totally just blew my own mind.
...word is bondage...

Yes, not unlike when Mork would drink orange juice through his finger. That works if you're from Ork, but the NES is from Earth so it's a bad idea.

One of my older friends used to do something like this, except it would be the N64's music playing and the NES video going.
It was weird to play Donkey Kong with Blast Corps music.
