Diatribal Deity

Let me just preface this by saying that I know there are alot of you who have had bad experiences with paypal, it sucks, it's a scam etc...
I, however, see it as a necessary evil as I sell internationally and overall am willing to take the good with the bad.
That being said, I recently had an interesting experience with them...
I have always paid my fees through the automatic method through my account balance. This past month, however, despite having more than adequate funds in my account, there was a reversal the day after the automatic payment was made. So I proceeded to pay the next day after receiving a legitimate notice from them saying I still had a balance due. Then seven hours later there is a charge to my credit card for the fee amount resulting in a credit.
So today I call Paypal with info from their own site and my credit card statement. They deny that the reversal was ever made and are not showing any credit card charge. I give them the transaction number, amount and time down to the very second which I am staring at on their very own site. Still they deny any records exist. I mind you (not them), am convinced they experienced some type of glitch and proceed to explain this to a supervisor. She finally admits to me they have been doing many system upgrades.
So check your statements closely around the end of December and early January as it is very unlikely I was the only one who fell victim to this glitch.
Ultimately I still have a credit in my account as a result of the duplicate charge but remain baffled. Others I have told this to are calling shenanigans, what say you?
