Topic here (http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=7&topic=33197353)

Already off to a bad start because some smartass 12-year-old said "No because nobody uses it."

I don't see why it shouldn't be on there. It has over 100 game cartridges. (http://www.videogamehouse.net/rarity.txt)

Hmmm, I believe I saw one of those the other day for $10 complete with a crappy box but I have no TV that works with the connectors. I totally agree there should be some existance of it being a development machine with games on it. Screw the stupid 12 yr old that doesn't know what the hell is going on.

I bought one of these a few years ago primarily because I never was given one when I was young and asking for it. I have never plugged it in though.

What system is it most comparable? I need to know so that I can judge the 12 year olds remark better.

I had one of these when I was a youngin'. We had a few games, but I only remember playing TI Invaders. Haha I'm still mad at my dad for selling it at a garage sale about 7 years ago.

It pretty much has the same graphics processor as the Colecovision, 256x192 resolution, 16 colors, 28 sprites -- pretty decent for its time. The Colecovision's TMS9928A processor allowed for 32 sprites though, which is slightly better than the TI-99/4A's -- hope this helps as a frame of reference.

And I thought this thread was about the calculators. >.>

It's not "slightly better," it's equal. The TI-99/4A could handle 32 2-color(background and foreground) sprites.

Considering all the other obscure systems they have listed there Im actually suprised the TI isnt already there. I remember fooling with these at Video Concepts in my local mall, I was a C64 and Odyssey2 kid at the time : )

Good luck with this ; )

I finally found the feedback system for GameFAQs, which is obscenely, deliberately hidden.

Petitions are generally useless and way too time consuming on that forum, so I submitted the feedback ticket and the result was that it was "filed" (into file 13, rather).

Thanks for all the support anyway!

TI 99/4A had way cool sound capabilities, and speech, and expansion capabilities.

Based on the link to the TI-99 release list, I'd say definitely!

But I also thought we were talking about calculators, just based on the topic :embarrassed:

They should add stuff like PC98 or so at first :) But why not add TI-99/4A Section. Don't know what speaks against it.

LOL!

Seriously, it's a very good system. I remember playing it BITD at the local mall and it was very cool.
