Kaboom Champion

I haven't been to CGE since 2k1 where I won the Kaboom Championship (hence my name) and was a little disappointed with the Atari selection available from the exhibitors, although I got some good stuff at the swap meet. It seemed only B&C Computervisions had a good selection of Atari computer merchandise for sale, I was wondering if this has changed at all since then. I am a big Atari collector and if anyone wants to trade/swap stuff and is going to the show, please post. Even some C64 stuff might be OK since I remember they published a lot of C64/Atari combo boxes back in the day...

I don't remember too much about seeing the Atari computer stuffs, (because mainly I am not into that) but there was PLENTY of Atari console games at CGE2K5, including many homebrews by packrat videogames and other publishers. If you are into Atari 2600/7800/5200, I'd say you wouldn't have been upset by the selection at CGE2K5. Check out this thread of pics to see what was there last year!

Thanks for the info and pictures link, I may go after all as I wouldn't mind getting a CD add-on for my Sega Genesis and picking some stuff up for that. I was also wondering when and who decides what high score contests are held at the event. It made my year when I got to 2k1 to find there was going to be a Kaboom contest and I am wondering what there might be this year. I can play forever at Yars Revenge:-D

The show has changed over the years in content. Whereas before there was a huge Atari front, it is less so today. That's not to say there isn't a fair bit, but other machines especially the other pre-crash consoles and NES have muscled in on the space to provide a better balance of coverage.

NWCGE will have a booth again and we'll have lots of atari 2600 stuff as always. :)

Balance is a good thing. I remember when there was not much but Atari(and a crapload of Jaguar stuff). Classic Gaming expo has become very diverse and it is a great place to fill in collections for EVERYTHING. I expect this year to be special.
