I was told that Yoshi's Island had some sort of 50/60 hz copy protection?
Well, since i own a USA version of the snes i didn't think this was a problem? But when i insert the cartridge the image flicker on the screen and when i hit Start the game resets!
I have modified my console to be able to play both PAL and NTSC games on it with the click of a switch, when the switch is at its normal position the lockoutchip and videomode is "standard" but still the game resets?

The game is ofcourse NTSC!

Anyone who ha experience with this?

WOW sorry for bumping such an old thread.

I'm having the exact same problem with this game, I also have trouble with star fox.
The games flicker like crazy, and then restart.

I have no problems with other games, I thought my SNES might have a problem with Super FX games, but Super Mario RPG works fine...

(My SNES is NTSC, I tried both on my TV and projector with the same result)

Please help!

To my knowledge, Mario RPG isn't a SuperFX game.

Have you tried the games in a different SNES system? I have one system that seems to corrupt the image with any games using Mode 7. SNES's seem to be going pretty cheaply right now, I can't seem to give one away on ebay right now for far less than they used to sell for a couple years ago.

It might be the mode 7 that's messed up. My cousin just bought an american snes (I live in denmark), I'll try running the games on his system once he gets it...
And yeah, it is very fortunate that they are quite cheap at the moment!
Thanks!
