Any help would be appreciated. I just picked up a lot of 140 SFC carts and I'm in the process of cleaning/testing/playing them now, its a whole lot of fun. However there are a good number of games that I've never seen before and only have their titles writen in Japanese on the labels. I've been looking for some sort of online database that has pics of the cart labels along with names spelled out in roman letters that I can read. Anyone who can help me is totally awsome!

The best resource is this website right here. Go to the home page and click on Rarity Guide. Select SNES and Non-US releases then fill in the part number.

Oh, thanks man, I didn't know that the online rarity guide helped to identify carts like that. Man this website is great! Thanks a ton.

Nice, man. I'm sure you're having a blast. May I ask how much you paid for those 140 carts?

Anyway, if you haven't seen my site yet, I have a ton of (obscure) SFC impressions posted. Out of 140, I'm sure you have at least 15 or so that has been highlighted on my site.

The best way is to try and use the Serial code (ie SHVC-XX), and search the DP pdf with all the SFC games. That is what I do, anyway.

Yes man, I am having a blast. I got the whole lot for $325 shipped, which comes out to about $2.30-$2.40 per cart or so.

Yeah, I have been visiting your site since you first put it up. I read about it when you posted it up on segafans. As far as the games that you have shared your impressions of, I'm not really too sure how many of them I have, becuase well, unless the labels have English writing or recognizable characters, I'm not too sure what games they are atm. I just got them a few days ago and I haven't even had the chance to test them all yet. I did play a bit of Mario & Wario, which is an excellent game. My SNES mouse appreciates the use because well, it hasn't gotten much of it in the last decade or so.

By the way Steve, I think your website is awsome. I think I tried to tell you that on Segafans, but because of some glytch, the webpage deleted all of the posts that made that day so I'm not sure wheather or not you got the chance to read it.

Reading what you wrote about DoReMi Fantasy makes me really want to hunt that title down. I'll probably wait a while to pick it up though seeing as how I should be busy for a while playing these 140 carts. Some of these games I've been wanting to play for many years like Area 88, Super Metroid, Super Bonk 2, Yoshi's Island, Actraiser and whatnot.

You can try:

Here (www.vgrebirth.org/games/browse.asp?platform=12)

or you can post pictures of the games on DP and someone is bound to know the title.

Well since it won't let me edit fast enough I'll just post this.

I don't own a lot and you'll find my scans in the link I posted above, but here are bigger originals.

Thanks for the links funkbuddy, that site is pretty much exactly what I was looking for. It seems DP will work better for my situation though, as all I need to do is type in the parts number, which is pretty much the only solid info I have on some of these games.

Also, slightly unrelated to the original topic, I have a Super Famicom that is having trouble with its cart slot. Its basically the pickiest Super I've ever seen in my life. I have better luck getting games to play on my NES. I just made a thread about it in the restoration section of the site, but I figured that posting my woes here as well might give me a better chance of getting a solid answer.

...and also, does anyone know how to get the yellowness out of the back of these carts? Some of them are really bad, they almost look like two completely different games put together.

At VGRebirth you can search by the part number. Most of the games listed there should have a number. It's a work in progress still so everything might not, but it's pretty good.

No idea about getting the yellow out, but there is a thread here about yellow consoles. That might give you some tips.
