This event could be considered the snes era equivalent of the NWC. In fact, it was called the Nintendo World Championships 1994. I wrote up an article that sums up a lot of the info that I have received over the past while.

I remember that Powerfest 94, I had to travel to another Wal-mart in the next state, just so I could win a hat and a 3D Super Metroid poster stating "She's Waiting!" when I used to live in Massachusetts...had to play those game in order to finish first..man that was so worth it...
