Are there rare games for the DS already ?
I heard Cocoto: Kart Racer is pretty hard to get ?

I'm guessing cocoto is a european release since i don't have it down for my US DS release list.
As for US DS games - it really depends on where in the country you live but games like mini-rc rally and princess natasha saw relatively limited releases. Also Madden 06 didnt have too many copies released where as madden 05 and madden 07 had quite a few released.

As far as US releases, maybe Break 'em All. Stylus controlled Pong/Arkanoid variant. Rather nice game and almost completely ignored and/or under radar.

Break 'em All is easy to find out here. They have it at Costco even.
I have a hunch this thread, like the other rarest game for current gen system threads, is going to consist mostly of someone mentioning a title and someone else saying "OMG these are like SMB/DH out here." LOL
Seriously though, how about Electroplankton?

Yeah, Electroplankton has been extremely hard to find. It's going for like 50-60 on ebay.

yeah I picked up my copy last year and didn't want to open it in the off chance that someday, electroplankton is deemed RARE!!!

Was that "game" available anywhere other than through the online store?

Toys 'R Us and Gamestop both sold it briefly.

I've heard a bit about Wiffle Ball - in fact, the only place I've seen the game was Toys R' Us about a month back.

I was just going to say Wiffle Ball. I still have not seen it in stores.

Really? I think my TRU still has copies. I could've swore I saw some the last time I was in there (right after Christmas).

I believe the rarest US game is Monopoly/Boggle/Yahtzee/Battleship. While there are tons of the UK version for sale on ebay, there are rarely only 1 or 2 US versions, and I have never seen them in the stores.

Regional distribution crap... yet again!
Yeah, WTH is Electroplankton? Possibly the rarest game with the highest demand? I can't see people foaming at the mouth over Monopoly/Boggle/Yahtzee!/Battleship honestly. Them Brain Age geezers might though. I keed, I keed. LOL

There are a few board game collections on the DS and they seem to be scattered around in my area. I want to say I've seen that one on TRU shelves just the other week, but then I could be wrong.

How about Ping Pals? It seems many wonder why it was ever released at all.

Here in Ontario, Ping Pals is quite common, got clearanced out at TRU. Break Em All is still in Wal-Mart's bargain bins here and not selling at all...tons of em. Electroplankton is still fairly expensive, but every EB here has at least one copy. Wiffle Ball is on the shelves at pretty much every Wal-Mart. However, I've never seen the board game combo game cyberfluxor mentioned, and I've never seen mini-rc rally or princess natasha at all.

I've seen that game all over the place. Haven't given it much of a second look, because it doesn't really interest me, but I never thought about it possibly being rare.
Of all the games mentioned so far, I've never seen Elektroplankton of Wiffle Ball on the shelves before.

Wiffle Ball DS seems readily available online (KBToys.com, Walmart.com, and DeepDiscountDVD.com all have the game in-stock as of the time of this posting).
My vote for rarest DS game goes to Monopoly/Boggle/Yahtzee/Battleship.

Electroplankton will probably be one of the more rarer titles, due to it's limited release and limited appeal to most consumers (I think Nintendo should probably re-release it at a cheaper price as a 'Touch Generations' title).

I didn't know this game was rare (I bought it for something like $20 very shortly after it came out), but I can vouch for it actually being very good. It's probably one of my three favorite DS games, and I own at least 30.

Don't get this confused with the GBA version whose artwork looks just like the DS version's artwork.
If you guys can find one, by all means pick one up for me and I'll buy it from you. Otherwise you might want to sell that on Ebay. One going right now at $61 with 18 hours to go:

Lost in Blue has seemed to dried up and fetches $40-50... so much so that UK version are being sold on ebay.

I think that's the thing... No one is reselling this one... It seemed fairly common at release, but then vanished entirely.
I'm with esquire; anyone sees one (new, $30 or less -- I'm cheap, and that's high for me :-), let me know!

I'll toss in my vote for Micro Machines V4 for "rare with demand".... but aren't all Micro Machines games like that?
I've seen one copy, and have been kicking myself ever since for not buying it.

This one just came out though and its still all over the place online at least. I've only seen it in TRU's so far though.

It seems as if Micro Machines v4 has seen a re-release within the past couple of weeks.

Electroplankton and Monopoly / Battleship / etc DS are keeping their values, while Lost in Blue is back down, most likely because LiB 2 was so similar. In the last few months Advance Wars DS has been going for higher than retail, but it seems to have dropped down to more reasonable levels, although it still sometimes passes $40 on ebay. Monopoly / etc seems to have had a very very short shelf-life, and the more recent boardgame compilation released for the DS isn't liscensed by Atari, so I have a feeling that contract problems may be why this one is hard to find.
