I just purchased a copy of the game Sword of the Berserk for the Dreamcast on Ebay. Upon opening it, I discovered 2 discs. The game was on the bottom, and the other one over it was a burned copy of a game called Tech Romancer. Weird.

I put Sword of the Berserk in my DC to play it. The Sega logo came up, and I got as far as the screen that says it loaded successfully. After that, the DC went back to it's main menu.

The disc appears to be in decent condition. There are some scratches, but I have seen this Dreamcast play games that were in much worse condition.

Anyone have any ideas on whether or not this can be saved? I have not yet heard from the seller, and he said no refunds in his auctions.

The pirated game he included works... lol.

I don't know why this works, but I have a copy of Sonic Adventure 2 that is scratchless on the bottom but will not load. I cleaned it over and over but it still wouldn't load. Then I was playing around and I put another disc on top of SA2. Some how it worked. Don't know why, but it did!! Try that, it might work, but make sure both discs are secure on the spinner!!!!!!!!!!

Is there any smudges or scratches on the top of the disc?

Is there any smudges or scratches on the top of the disc?

On the top where the label is? None that I could find. I held the disc up to the light to see if any light was shining through.

I had a game like this

I fixed it by loading another disc to the sega screen, swapped it out then put the non working disc in

the non working one was in great condition also

some of my games are like this, shenmue, i belive my sonic adventure 2 disc does this from time to time, as do my snes and nes emulator discs.

sometimes if i turn the dreamcast upside down, it works better. but i think the DC is just a finicky system like that.

funny, my saturn never has problems, even with disc swapping really nasty looking cds.
