Wasn't there some kind of an issure with StarCraft 64 while it was in production. I remember hearing something a long time ago about defective copies or some sort of issue with the game that made it stop being produced. Or is this all bull? Anybody know what I am talking about?

I cant remember anything about Starcraft 64 but I know there were some issues with Starcraft: Ghost for the Gamecube.

Yeah.... that whole pesky issue of even being released really does it to a game doesn't it?
I just looked around GameFAQs and didn't see anything mentioned either on their boards, in either FAQ or in the 'cheats' area. I don't remember ever hearing anything about a manufacturing defect that caused a short run of the game. It was just a short run game as far as I ever knew.

The only thing that comes to mind about Starcraft 64 is the same as Warcraft II: The Dark Saga (PS1/Saturn) and it's the lag! Blizzard didn't seem to care about making it more efficient for consules with limited memory and processing compared to the computers at the time. It runs smooth for a little while, then a massive slow down once more units are built. This problem isn't anywhere nearly as bad for the C&C or Dune ports, so why did Blizzard decide to be so cheap. The only PC -> Consule port I really liked from them is of Diablo, hence why I want them to make a Diablo II or 3 for consule.

On top of slowdown, the analog stick & face buttons make for a pretty poor mouse & keyboard substitute. Now that I think about it, it would have been cool if Blizzard had done a multi-console release of the game, making a port for the Dreamcast as well. Dreamcast keyboard + online support = win. I wonder how much slowdown a DC version would have had, I'm not too knowledgable on systems and their RAM.

I'm sure there would have been some slowdown because Blizzard didn't attempt to really optimize their consule code, but wouldn't have been nearly as bad as for say the 32-bit consules. An online ability would have been awesome and would have still been up and running too with battle.net! Then again I can see people duplicating DC keys, even if they were hardcoded into the discs. But with a keyboard + mouse on the DC would just plain kick ass and would have brought a RTS market to the consule, but of course even todays consules don't seem to want to venture that route with confidence and is why the computers will continue to conquere the FPS and RTS genres.

I'm not always that great with spelling, matter of fact I'm known by some of my friends for making up English words, most of the time they make no sense to them. No one's really tried to correct me on the spelling so I'll try to remember the correct one. :)
