Okay, I have recently embarked in the fun world of DIY Video Game Console Repair. I have some pretty basic knowledge of soldering and other repair skills, so I can move along pretty well.
The current system that I am having a bit of trouble on is this NTSC SNES console. I have found it to be a Generation 1 SNES, but that really doesn't apply to what the problem is with the system.
When I tried to test the system, it would not power on. I researched and found that the common problem for that is that the picofuse inside the SNES is blown. I got some 3 amp picofuses, since that was the smallest convenient size in stock to a 1-1.5 amp picofuse. I replaced the old SNES fuse, and put the new one in. When I tested the console again, it still didn't turn on. I then removed the new fuse and put a small piece of wire in its place. That still didn't work.
What is wrong? Could it be that if I got a smaller amp picofuse it would work? But if that's the case, then why didn't the plain wire work? I hope you can help me out with this, since I am quite lost!
