I acquired a copy of Castlevania Chronicles last week. Before this, the only games I ever played were #3 and Circle of the Moon, so you vets out there might have an answer to this question.
Anyway, does anyone know how to beat the little heads in the second room on the first level after entering the castle. I don't know what they are called, but they appear after you break the block in the stone column.
I can't even find them in the manual!

They're Hunchbacks. Best bet is to not whip the big stone in the middle cause the Hunchbacks will continuly come out. Whip the wall to the left near the steps going down for a Pork Chop though.
*Is up to stage 3 on the Orginial and Arranged modes in Chronicles.
I haven't played many of the Castlevania games, but I have played this one and a few others. The first level in Castlevania Chronicles is pretty much the same as the first one on the NES. When you break that block in the NES one, those guys don't come out. Instead, there is a power up or something. I don't think there is anyway to defeat them all, they just keep coming. Just don't hit that block, and go down the easy-to-miss stairway to the left.

I REALLY wish I wouldn't have sold my copy, I hear there were only 20,000 printed for the American realese!

In the orginial NES Castlevania, whipping that block will reveal a Pork Chop.

@ Neb - Thanks for the info about the staircase. I couldn't see it! (Perhaps it is my 13- inch TV!)
@Starcade - Found my copy at an EB Games while on spring break. They had 3, and I should have picked another one up, but I didn't. But I did get Point Blank 3 and VIP brand new and used copies of Raystorm, Fighter Maker, and Tempest X3! :D
Nothing like old-school style gameplay!

Hope I didn't offend, Kaine. If your reply was in reference to "old-school gameplay," I grew up in the 80's, and the NES is old-school IMO. That was the first system I ever owned, and I prefer Chronicles to Circle of the Moon.
If your reply was in reference to the pork chop suggestion, I appreciate the hint.

No problem, I think everyone's gotten stuck thinking the Pork Chop was where it is in the orginial actually.
If ya need anymore help just ask.
