View Full Version : NES Tips videos
There was a thread somewhere around here that was about a series of videos I've been working on called NES Tips. I seem to have lost that link, so I thought I'd make a new one.
Anyway, the next video in that series is up, and Bionic Commando is featured. If you haven't seen any of these videos, or haven't seen it lately, there's a new intro made by a guy named RobotBling. He did an awesome job on it too! Here's the link to the newest video:

If you check it out, please remember to rate it! Thanks!

Roth, I really love your videos, but...I like you better when you're not trying to be funny. This guy agrees with me too:

Being straightforward with tips is what makes your videos special, your jokes about Pi and swinging take away from that. Keep up the good work, but don't feel like you have to add humor to your tips videos, because you really don't. The tips themselves are more than entertaining enough.

Personally, I like the humor. It's a fun addition to what is still predominately a serious tips video.

I think the video is great and very professional. Your videos will be a great reference for years to come.
Hey, thanks for the replies. I see a couple of familiar faces too... "This just in from a reliable source!" ;)
As for the little extras I toss in the videos, it's just something I enjoy doing. It's pretty much just the way I think of things sometimes. Some of the stuff I toss in are from when I was a child, and it's just something that stuck in my head after all of these years haha! I try not to overdo it though, but sometimes it just feels too funny not too. Two of my favorites are the Michael Jackson segment in Double Dragon 3, and the whole Golgo 13 build-up to him meeting the boss. Those were fun to do :P
I don't have stuff like that in every video though, because sometimes I just don't feel anything that comes to me. It all depends on the circumstances I guess... how nostalgic the game is to me, what kind of mood I'm in that week, etc.
Thanks for the feedback, I do take everything I'm told into account!

Well, that's good! I still enjoy your videos. And I don't actually think you overdo it yet, I'm just concerned that someday you might, and I really don't think the world needs another Angry Nintendo Nerd.
You're doing fine, and I'm not being critical so much as just cautious. Keep up the good work, man.
Celestial Avenger?! Wait, so are you CAvenger on Digg? haha! Good to see you, didn't know you posted here freak!

Ah! hahah! I see, no, don't worry a BIT about that. I have absolutely NO intentions of knocking any games. I like to get people to play a game from a non-biased standpoint. Even if you've heard a game is horrible, don't approach it like that... that kind of thing, you know? For me, even if I don't like a game, I'll give it a fresh start and try and pull all the good stuff out so it's more enjoyable for me to play... for some games, that IS a chore though haha! Anyway, yeah, that's what I'm trying to get across to people:
Don't take a review that you hear and automatically apply it to the game, good or bad.
Actually, I'm getting tired of hearing everyone put down old school games in general. Man, it's like a plague now! If the Angry Nintendo Nerd didn't have such great timing in his comedy, I'm sure I probably wouldn't like his videos.
Thanks for the caution for sure, but you needn't worry about that when it comes to NES Tips :)
Hey all, I hope this isn't against TOS on Digital Press, but I wanted to let everyone know who may have watched NES Tips on YouTube in the past.
Last week or so, I shut down the YouTube channel where the NES Tips videos were posted. They are now shown on PlayTheNES.com, so if you liked watching them and you weren't aware, that's where they are now.
Thanks again to all who have watched in the past and continue to do so : )
