Buried treasure!

Has anyone determined if Rugal is a spoof account or what?

Yeap, He's legit. It is NOT a spoof account as far as we can tell.

RugalSizzler is better known in a few corners of the net as RegalSin2020. He was a pretty notorious poster on CheapAssGamer late last year and got banned from there right before Christmas. He even got his own page on the CAGWiki (http://wiki.cheapassgamer.com/index.php/RegalSin2020). From that page:

RegalSin2020 is a famous Cheap Ass Forums member on the rise to stardom. He is best known for posting poorly composed, incoherent statements across the boards. Due to his random thoughts and his brutal destruction of the English language, many CAG members find RegalSin2020's "posts" as comedic gold. RegalSin2020 usually starts out posts as understandable (yet still poorly written) words, but seems to diverge into other different topics, all in the same sentence. Random capitalization and curious misspelled words are often seen.

Interesting. So does a DPWiki page exist highlighting the most notorious ex-members (or current members) from this site?

My parents believed games (and the Commodore 64) would someday lead to a computer-oriented career.

And they were right.
I design hardware for use inside computers.

when I was 17 way back in 1985 my dad hated that I spent all my time on my commodore 64, he used to moan because I was unemployed, and when my giro check came I often spent it on games at my local town computer shop.
"youll never get a job playing on that bloody computer"... however I was such an enthusiast, and a regular to the shop, and new everything about every game back then... one day I went into the shop and they asked me "did I want a job ?".
I have now been in computer related jobs as a result of that, pretty much constantly for 22 years and now kind of a IT consultant in a large bank...

my dad died many years ago...but when I see him again, I can say... "In your face baldy !!" :)

well my parents always told me playing them TOO MUCH like i did would make me a bum. Well... actually i kind of am lol, dont have a job or nothing and i would never sell my games cause i love them all... but if i did i would have quite a bit of cash. But i do remember my parents hated it when my brother and i would play mortal kombat because of the blood and violence... we would go rent it and sneak it into the house. One time we got caught with it and my mom said we could only keep it if we turned the blood off lol.

You're the first person I've ever heard say the SNES version was slow.

You think the game in general was too slow, or is it something more specific?

I remember my dad used to yell at me all the time over videogames and that they were a waste of time and would never be worth anything (around 1990). Now since I've showed my father how much profit I've made off of e-bay, he is very supportive (plus I'm 24yo and don't live with him anymore.) Anyone else have similar stories?

Gee, he bashes you when he disagrees, and as soon as you prove yourself, he changes his tune? Do you really want that kind of father figure in your life?

Selling stuff on eBay is not exactly a career to be proud of.

Wow...so much wrong with this statement I don't even know where to start. You set your own hours, are in control of your potential earnings...eBay is as big as it is for a reason.

Dude, my parents hated video games ever since I was 12. I'm a 22 college senior now, and they have become addicted to my Wii!

I present the same question to you as I did to the topic starter above.

I'm glad you found a career you can be proud of, congratulations. How's the insurance plan?

At his age, and his probable health, it would be a cinch for him to buy his own health insurance. Just because no one's covering that cost for him doesn't mean it's a bad idea for him to be in that business.

I sell stuff on eBay as a primary source of income, and am beginning to save enough money that I'll be able to move out at some point. If I add even a respectable part-time job to that, then I'll have no problems whatsoever.
