View Full Version : Who REALLY remembers the Final Fantasy 7 Promotional Videos

Okay, this is a loooong shot, but bear with me.

Years and years ago when FF7 was announced on PSX, websites of the time like gamefan & egm had videos of FF7 that I used to download with my monsterous 56k modem.

I remember seeing and HEARING things that never made the game. One song has stuck in my head for over 10 years now, I am certain it never made the game. It sounded like something that could of been made for Chrono Trigger (Which would of made alot of sense).

Does anybody happen to have any information about this video or maybe even saved it all that time? I know it's obscure and a longshot but I have always wondered about it.

I take interest to obscure things like this, I can't help it

there are many many ff7 soundtracks out there. have you tried getting them all? (torrents, mirc, usenet). i know for fact some songs on them arent in the game.

also, try youtube.com for ff7 trailer videos

Even though there's lots of FF7 trailers, I'm pretty sure that's the one you're talking about. I didn't remember that song being used in the game, either.

This is kind of what I am talking about. The video I saw was definatly from a very early build of the game. It was probably made before there was even any of the CG scenes done. Considering it was going to be a N64 game, this makes a lot of sense.

Does anybody have any movies from this era of the game development timeline?

No, these were early videos of FF7 running on PSX hardware with different music

Wow its amazing to look back at the game in its original stages and wonder what else they had in mind while making the game. Was there ever a proto or beta actually released for the N64 I could imagine it would fetch an ungodly amount of money. If you want to see some interesting beta videos I would also recommend you check out the ones for Metal Gear Solid they are pretty intriguing as well.
