(On the right)

It says nothing about its capacity, all it says is that it's a memory cart. (The writing says Sega Saturn X / External Backup RAM.) The model number is 670-5847, at least according to the sticker in the back.

I've seen some sites claim that this is an 8MB backup RAM cart. o_O I've found no info whatsoever... so, any help? ^^;

what colour is the cart?
Is it Sega official?

Ext Backup RMA means this is the backup memory cart but ithout more info it's bit hard to elaborate...

It's gray colored, it was found attached to a gray colored JP Saturn at my local flea market. The cart itself has "SEGA" branded on the back. Other than that... I have no clue.

Nor do I have anyone handy who could test this thing for me. ^^;

It looks like an off brand 4MB memory cart with a Saturn label... But I'd wait to hear what the Saturn experts have to say...

sounds like the official JPN backup memory cart.
At the back there should be an moulded characters saying Sega and etc.
Also the cart shell itself should be wel put together - some 3rd party ones from other countries I've seen were pretty dodgy compared to official one.

the one I have which is 3rd party looks like this...

Yeah, the Japanese Sega CD RAM carts have the area to write save names on the front too. I guess Japanese people like to write the save names down and Americans like to look at pretty pictures.
