I wound up buying this recently and popped it open today. I'm thinking that it is indeed a proto, but I do not deal with Genesis games too often so I was looking for a few of you experts to help me out!

Here's a pic of the inside board:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Did you try it?

It may be also a pirate or an unlicensed.

I tried it and am actually a little disappointed. The outside of the case has 'Splatter House 2' written on it, but plays Lotus Turbo Challenge.

It may be a pirate cart, seeing as the label and the actual game itself do not match...

Who knows...not me ;-)

brasilian pirate?

The label can't be a proto: why doing a proto label with SEGA and "for 16 bit"???

I don't really know if it would be a pirate (though I've never seen a Genny pirate) since it has the Sega logo on the back and all the etched warning label information and such.

It looks more like a home-made cart than a pirate to me.

Pirate with generic label. Handwritten game.
