Hi All,
Wondered what people will be bringing for the Saturday Auction Night action?
I will probably bring more boxed Vectrex items.

I went to the last CGE in Las Vegas before the move, but not to the auction. I did go to the swap meet though. Can anyone tell me what are good things to bring to either, besides money? :)

I will probably bring my Intellivision Super Series Baseball with box and overlays. Too bad it does not have instructions. That should pay for the trip in gas and the price of admission. I live 3 and half hours away.

Yeah, money heh. If you've got any of the Kouso games I still need Chris, then I'd probably grab them ;)
If I haven't sold my Eli's Ladder by then I might throw it in just for the sheer WTF nature of it...
(though there would be a reserve of course!)

I'll be bringing Sean Kelly.
I know he's not worth much but I'm really broke.

Well, if I come from Italy, I'll be glad to bring something unusual for the auction.
What would you like to see between these?
-NES Ice Climber SMALL BLACK BOX (1987) NOS
-NES Tennis SMALL BLACK BOX (1987) NOS (these small box variants are really uncommon in Italy. I presume that these titles with this box, similar to the Japanese one, were distributed by Wonderland at the very beginning)
-some GB protos
-Atari VCS pirates from Italy (I should have some NOS games)

I'll be bringing something extra special... *grin*
Let's just say its a game proto nobody thought existed, and
it's a very high profile proto. Other than that I won't say jack
about it. :D

Auction night? What exactly goes down on auction night, besides bidding for items?
Can we actually bring items for people to bid on?

Yup, but the auctioneers only take high-dollar, high-profile, or highly-unusual items to be auctioned.
Take a gander at these threads for some of the stuff that has been auctioned off at past CGEs.

As you can see, you can't really dump your box of loose Combat carts into the auction. Gotta be special.

Oh, that's going to be so cool. :)
Thanks for the linkage, Sniderman. As for that box of Combat carts, you think they'll accept a box of SMB/DH NES carts? lol j/k
I might bring some stuff for sale. Depends on where I stand in terms of 'spring cleaning' which is coming up very soon for me.

Out of curiosity, is there a way to submit something for auction if we can't attend the expo?
DreamTR

brisk: you would probably have to send it to someone going to the show. WHat is the item in question?

It's a pre 9/11 release of Spiderman 2 for the PS1. This version (once intended to be the final version) never hit the retail shelves as Activision stopped production after the tragedy in order remove environments and backgrounds portraying the WTC. Or at least buildings very similar to the WTC.
The disc has art work screened on, an SLUS # and works in a regular PS1.

Anyone need a boxed, original Odyssey system with Shooting Gallery (also boxed)? I'm thinking of passing it on, but don't really want to deal with shipping the thing so I was thinking of bringing it for the auction...

rik: I don't know if they will allow that at the auction....I know Shooting Gallery is rare, but the Odyssey?

05-29-2007, 04:41 PM
There's no restrictions on the auctions (at least, there haven't been in the past)... Granted, they probably won't take a 2600 Combat cart, but if it's worth some money, it's probably fair game...
Odyssey is rare enough... There's only one on Ebay now (with Shooting Gallery), asking price of $250. Sure, there's probably one or two on Ebay every month, but it's still an uncommon system... I have a couple of the cartridges for it too... I think I might be missing the TV switch though... I need to find it and take a look at it.

Stranger things have happened... like the two Starfox Weekend carts going in at the same time. Fortunately we came to a good agreement about how that was gonna work...

I can confirm now there will be a special, Customized Vectrex item for the Auction.
Something you will all want, and could actually use.

(1) Video cameras - so everyone behave. :-D
(2) A fairly interesting PS1 prototype. :wink 2:
