I have a dreamcast that works, but only works with the lid not fully closed. It seems that it will work without the latch locked. Does anyone have a remedy for this or any ideas as to why this is happening? As of now, I have to find a weight to hold the lid down far enough without it latching & I would like it to work the way it should. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Weird. Take the lid off and reattach it. Or keep it off and enjoy playing witout a lid.

Having a similar issue where the disc will not spin up if the lid is completely closed.

Agreed. I've had countless Dreamcast's with all kinds of resetting problems. 100% of the time it was caused by the power supply board making poor connection to the motherboard. Open the system up, remove and reseat the power supply board. There are a series of little posts that stick up through it from the motherboard, over time these connections can become poor as the power supply board isn't secured as well as it was with the Saturn (which had a similar design).
