I've either been getting bogus info, or I am having a fluke and I do not know where else to turn. I've heard you can play Gamecube imports on Wii via Action Replay. I've been doing this for Dream Mix TV, but when it loads the title screen where I should be able to begin the game, it freezes. Is it just that game, or do I have to re-invest in a Gamecube?

This DOES work with the Freeloader...but only on US Wiis...and possibly only on the release ones....information is sketchy still as far as I know :) I can play import GC on my Wii that I got on release day. Apparently this was locked out for Europe and maybe Japan (no clue there). I'd assume if that was the case, all the newer ones have it locked out. Even with the current updates mine works fine tho...

So, would I have to shell out for a Freeloader? I got my Wii for Christmas, I'm assuming its one of the first ones. I want to get Star soldier for import GC, but I'm not sure if it is the Wii, or the game itself. I read that not all games are 100% compatible with the action replay import enabler.
Oh btw, thanks for the info so far.

I also tried some of my GC imports on the Wii (release day unit) with my Action Replay and they worked flawlessly. Datels stupid Gameboy Advance player-thingie for the GC, however, does NOT work. Piece of crap anyways....

Hmmm... I wonder what the deal is then... Maybe I should get my hands on another import gc game and try it then. It may just be Dream mix tv.

You can play imports on the Wii, but the original Freeloader/AR releases only seem to work with the US Wii and not all of them either by the sounds of it. CJ/Datel have released updated versions of the disc that work with the Wii specifically to play import Cube titles. You may need to upgrade.

Or you could get the soldering iron out. Out of the 3 Wii modchips that have surfaced, the WiiKey (http://www.wiikey.cn/) apparently does GC imports without needing a swap. Plus it's upgradeable, whereas the CycloWIZ (http://www.cyclowiz.com/) and Wiinja (http://www.wiinja.com) aren't.

Ah, I'll have to get an upgraded disc. Thanks guys.
