Xbox Live question / help needed

I know I've asked this question before and got some responses, however, when I asked somebody else they said it wouldn't work and would screw things up. I suppose I'd better explain my issue first. I've got an Xbox Live account set up/established for my 360, however, my family has really gotten into Karaoke Revolution (both versions) and I'd like to download some more songs. I was told that I could simply use my 360 account info and use it for my Xbox account and have both active at the same time, however and friend of mine told me that this would inactivate my 360 account and since I've got a ton of accomplishments, I'd be choked if this happened. That being said, I'd rather not have to buy a year long Xbox Live account to get qa few songs for Karaoke Revolution either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My understanding is you can migrate a existing Xbox Live account for the Xbox to the Xbox 360, but not the other way around. I've successfully transferred my account from the Xbox 1 to the Xbox 360, making it active on both consoles (Just not at the same time, and you can only manage it from the 360). However, that link makes it sound like it is now possible to do that.

I don't think that's true. I just bought a modded Xbox from someone here on the forums and was able to transfer over my 360 gamertag onto it.
