I've recently bought a lot of material that came from an ex Nintendo World Class Service Center. The manuals and newsletters are full of informations that I'm going to post somewhere in our forums as soon as possible.

I'll start with an information that may be userful for collecting: some addresses of ex Nintendo Authorized Repair Centers.

If you live nearby, you may check them to see if they still have test carts or counter testers...
Unluckly on the newsletter there is just town and state.

Duran Service

McNichols Electric Service

New Haven Appliance

Turnpike Appliance of Huntington
Commeck, NY

Authorized Service of Orlando, Inc.

Southern Electronic Company

Hoppe's Authorized Vacuum & Appliance, Inc.
Vero Beach, FL

The Repair Group

Hope this helps.

I know of the address/phone number of the one in Maryland, I'll post it once I get a chance to visit it and see if I can get anything first. :p

Too bad Duran Service doesn't exist anymore. I work near Towson, in Baltimore, and I am pretty sure they are gone. You can even try the # if you'd like.. it's dead!

Authorized Service in Orlando was literally right down the street from me as a kid. Fortunately, I never had to take any of my nintendo stuff there.

I think it might still be there, I'll check and see if there are any goodies.

I just called Shaver & Appliance, and they obviously didn't know what I was talking about. It may be because of new management. I will have to ask my uncle, who has lived up there his whole life.

Lets see...

McNicols Electric is now an online company and told me they didn't have any items left. I was in the proccess of buying out what was left of Turnpike Appliance's game items (they have some system parts). The Repair Group in CA told me they didn't have any items for sale. H&S Service is now an online company and told me they didn't have any items left. Ft. Worth Shaver sold their remaining items off ebay a ways back...off the top of my head I can't think of any others but I know I've talked with a few more of them, I just don't remember exactly what they told me.

I have the entire list with addresses and phone numbers for all states. It's on some Retail Training Service Manual I got a lot time ago with a VHS tape in a binder with Mario on the cover with a screwdriver.

That list is of the original Service Center locations and is the most common one people go by. Of the list, many are no longer in business...most that are still around and are on that list have already been contacted by collectors and there are still a small handfull that continue to work for Nintendo. That particular list was almost completely run through by collectors by the time I started tracking them down around two years ago. :-/ Also, a lot of the larger Repair Shops returned their equipment and parts to Nintendo after the program was ended because they were offered partial refunds for test items and unused parts and merchandise.

It's not on your list, but there used to be one about 10 minutes away from me. Once I went there and asked if they had any extra test carts they could sell me. They said they used one of those crazy test stations instead and couldn't give it to me because they still needed it.

Tried to go back about a year later to bug them again about getting some of their old junk but they were closed down by then.

There used to be one around Cincinnati called Hilltop Video that was an Authorized Service Center. I remember getting the name of the joint from a Nintendo rep. No longer in existence, though.

I searched the Cincinnati Bell Yellow Pages and found a place called H & S Service. It's no more than 5-10 minutes from me. I'll have to check it out.

haha yea me too. I searched the address too but it says its some kind of church youth organization or something? I have a feeling its beating a dead horse though. Im sure whatever (if there was any) leftover stuff has long been gone. Sold, sent back, or thrown away unfortunately. :-(

Any places in Massachusetts?

I 2nd that question.

I know A&W Electronics in Medford did system repairs up until it moved and subsequently closed so they obviously did repairs of systems back in the day but I don't know if they were an authorized Nintendo Service shop. And even if they did have test carts and stuff still, my friend Jonathan would've already claimed them.

Where in MA are you if you don't mind my askin'?

Update on Fort Worth:
Nothing, no test carts, no manuals, nada. A girl behind the counter did recall using the test cart to check the systems. But had none anymore. What a pisser.

The guy from that store did get my number and he said there is folks out there who still bring them in!
I get to fix them for a service fee. They are gonna farm me out to fix NES's, coolness!!
