Well.. yeah.. the time has finally come. To say my life has gone to shit in the last few months would be an understatement. Last september I posted THIS (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=91538) thread. Since then I've sold about a hundred or so games on eBay.. piddly-dinking around a few every week on evilBay; and unloaded most of my consoles keeping only one model of each platform to play what I'll keep. My mom is getting sicker; not quite bed-ridden yet.. but I never did get to take her on that little vacation and I'm sick and tired of pussy-footing around. I need money.. plain & simple. I DON"T enjoy collecting games anymore.. AT ALL. I do enjoy playing them (It takes my mind off my troubles) so I'm keeping all of my PS2, GCN & XBX games. The way I see it.. I could continue to keep selling a game here and there and all that would accomplish is to help me pay her bills.. and that's not what I care about. Fuck the bills.. I want to do something special for her in her last few months and the only way I'm gonna' do that is to get one big lump of money or else I'm just gonna' keep pissing everything away until she's gone.. and I'll have nothing, nor any memories.. to show for it.

My many consoles (including my Turbo Duo, X-eye, TL NES and SMS II) are what kept me going the last few months.. all gone now. Yes.. I also sold a few "spendy" games along the way as well. Suikoden I & II are gone as well as FF, FFII, FFIII and Chrono.. which I sold last week. I actually got $75 for Team Buddies on eB.

So.. here's the deal. It's one last lot.. period. I know I'd get more selling it all piecemeal.. but no. I wont part-out, I won't sell single games.. I won't sell smaller lots. The 445 games are one-shot.. period. I also know most members won't even consider this because like me.. we're not rich; but I thought I'd try here first before it goes to evilBay where I'll have to take pictures (shitloads.. probably); design a humongous eye-catching ad (2 days work) and pay tons of fees in listing, FVFs and PayPal. I know you guys are cheap compared to eB buyers ;) and no.. I DON'T expect anywhere's near what IGN says it's worth. This would be more geared towards a reseller or a rich kid.

It's 4:30 AM and I've been up all night emptying mom's drool bucket (so to speak.. anyone remember that skit on SNL back in the Chevy & Bill days?) and I need to go to work soon. My grading system is explained in the September thread and the games are too many to list here but they're all in my sig.. as always. Like I've said before.. it takes a while to load up the IGN page.. but it's not as bad as it was when it was at 750+, and there's no way one can disable the box-art when you're just a public viewer.. nor can I edit it out for public view.. sucks. I've taken out all of the games I'm keeping so yes.. it's everything on that page. These are not a bunch of commons. sports.. or kids games either folks. We're all enthusiasts and collectors here.. and while there's no uber-rare protos or $1,000 bare 2600 carts.. none of this stuff is crap either. It represents some 8 years of buying and searching on eBay. All include case/box, manual & cart/CD. Clicking on "view stats" in the upper right corner of the list will give you a breakdown of the game quantities by platform. Clicking on the word "Platform" at the top of the columns will sort the list by platform (that's how I view it) rather than by ALL titles alphabetically. Clicking on "Show Public Notes" at the top of the title column will bring up the individual conditions for each game. Remember.. if you look at my other post I explain my grading and how to read the statements; in fact.. the games I DID list last September, their condition statements were taken right from this list.

I'm open to offers.. I actually don't have a figure in mind.. like I said though.. it cetainly isn't $16,428.. but please don't insult me or try to be a "funny" guy either. This is serious folks.. for a serious cause. I won't miss this crap.. or the scene.. and I want to get rid of it. PM me if you're interested. I have no idea what shipping would be but it would be a lot because obviously.. this stuff's heavy. I'd seriously consider a long-haul trucking line over UPS or FedEx.

Lastly.. I'm also parting with what consoles I have left and wouldn't mind including them in this lot as well. No sense in keeping the consoles if I'm not keeping any of the games. I have:

Dreamcast
Model 1 Saturn
PSOne w/Sony LCD screen
SCPH-1001 (launch model) PSX in box
Nintendo 64
Philips CD-i model 490
Panasonic FZ-10 3DO
Atari Jaguar w/CD add-on
Sega CDX
32X 100% complete in box
SMS Convertor
Blue Game Gear
Nomad
Lynx (model 2)
.. and I just bought a brand new Super Famicon Twin from estarland (after I sold all of my NES's and Super Nintendo models).

(I'm keeping my NGPC so I can play Biomotor Unitron & Faselei! which I kept; but I'm selling the rest of my NGPC games in the lot.)

Not to mention all hookups for them (some rare) a ton of controllers (some novelty) and Sega Saturn JAP model Virtua Stick (not the US grey one.. the bright-colored buttons fighting stick), a Saturn-Twin Stick, a PSX dual analog stick and one of those SNES Top fighter arcade quality sticks.. complete in box. Also a "Nintendo Power" N64 DK "banana" controller.

Oh yeah! A DC light-gun, a Saturn blk JAP Virtua Gun, a PSX GunCon, a CD-i gun (have a boxed Cd-i mouse too! and many different game pads for it) and a Konami Justifier for Gen (Snatcher!), 3DO ALG light-gun, 3DO mouse, brand-new boxed Sony PSX mouse, SNES mouse, Genny mouse and various IR controller sets for the Gen, SNES and NES.

Cases & AC adaptors for all of the handhelds (including the CDX).

Some schwag including plushies, promo items and such.

Thanks to all for your time & attention.

BTW.. I know my feedback forum link doesn't work.. but I haven't been able to re-edit since the forum change on account of the minute I do.. it tells me I've exceeded the sig line-limit.. so I don't. But I AM in the FB forum.

Help me out guys.. seriously.. my loss is your gain. I know I've asked this before also.. but even if you're not interested.. but qualified.. I'd welcome serious estimates as to what this is even worth.. in case it does end up on eBay. This collection (now half gone) was always meant to be my little "nest egg" and was my pride & joy. Unfortunately my local friends are not into retro-game collecting like I was. I never got to show this stuff off to anyone and I live in a mobile home with my mom so all of these years it remained packed away (good thing because I'm a smoker). Never had a room of doom, no pictures.. nothing. Hell.. 80% of these games got packed away after about 15 minutes of test-time when I got them. But it looks like I'm getting the house.. so I guess I won't need my "investment" to get a place of my own, but frankly.. right now.. I pretty much hate the entire world.. so who cares.

Just wanted to say I feel for you man, I lost my father a few years ago to brain cancer and spent all my time working to take my mind off of it. I have only bad memories about not spending time with him now.

Good luck with the selling- If I had money now (I'm actually selling most of my collection too because I just quit my job and need money for bills and college crap) I would totally take this stuff off your hands for you.

I wish you and your mother the best.

Thanks for the kind words. Believe me.. they're appreciated. My mom has lung cancer. She's a smoker.. like me (Actually.. I guess that should be the other way around.). But she's 81 years old and has had a full life. She found out last year and has refused all treatment.. my brother and I stand by her decision.. but it's hard. I think she's ready to be with my dad (he died off Alzheimer's about 7 years ago). I took care of him as well in his last few years.. so I've been here before.. it doesn't make it any easier though. My brother's mother-in-law died of lung cancer about 4 weeks ago (non-smoker.. go figure).

I've just been really down in the mouth lately. I get really depressed and believe me.. the last thing I want to do is deal with eBayer's whining over petty shit especially when the market's in such a slump.. so I'm just trying to avoid that. I've been selling most of my stuff at a loss compared to what I paid for it and that was never planned.. but I still need to make extra money and rid myself of this.

It's not all totally selfless.. mind you.. I'd really like to get rid of my 20+ year old RCA TV (It's SO old.. it doesn't even have s-video inputs) and get myself a flat-screen CRT TV. Not even a thin screen LED or a HDTV.. just a flat screen tube TV (they're becoming scarce). I also want to build myself a new PC.. I've been limping along on this 800MHz dinosaur forever. Who knows.. maybe I'd even get a 360.. but the bulk of any proceeds is going to my mom and making her life more comfortable soon.

I'm too frickin' old to be dealing with kids anymore (on eBay.. I mean).

BTW.. a couple of things I forgot to mention:

Not a single one of these games are "greatest hits" versions. Neither PSX or SNES games.

Also.. as some of you know.. I'm scorch56 everywhere on the net. I don't change nyms. So if you want to look up my EatMeBay feedback.. you know.. ;)

My sincere gratitude goes out to all of the people who have PM'ed me with messages of sympathy and support. It is most appreciated.. just as much as the offers. Thank you.

On a side note.. I'm taking some rudimentary pictures today and hope to have them up over the weekend.

Bump. I was busy with my mom and my dog (I gave him a bath and clipped him) today so I got some pictures taken.. but not all. They'll be up tomorrow night for sure (12:20 AM! Make that today.). I've had what I consider a fair offer.. so the good news is I'll probably let all this stuff go here. Fuck eBay.

One of the NICEST things of saying good bye to all of this? I won't spend every minute of my precious spare time on eBay anymore. In fact.. nothing would make me happier than closing down my 8 year account.

Have I ever mentioned the fact that I loathe eBay? :rockets:

O.. M.. G! This is turning out to be more work than I thought! I SHOULD have started cataloguing this sh*t with pictures and keeping better track of it than I had.. a long time ago.

Everytime I turn around I find more stuff.. games, consoles.. crap. Anyways.. I'm still taking pictures and making a comprehensive all-inclusive list. I'm not working Wednesday so I'll finish up tomorrow.

Seriously guys.. I'm not going to miss this stuff.. AT ALL. After giving up my storage unit a couple of years ago.. most of this stuff got relocated to my bedroom (the majority of it) and other various places throughout the house. Since then.. my bedroom's always been a "danger zone" (literally) and sometimes I can't even turn around in it.

It's all been temporarily residing in the living room though (biggest room of our house) and now that room is so frickin' cluttered.. today while walking through it and trying to manuveur my way through the maze of boxes and barrels.. I accidently stubbed my little toe on something. Split the damn nail right in two lengthwise! F*CK.. that hurts! Can people get along without their little toes? Seriously.. this isn't the first time this has happened to me.. and I'm thinking voluntary amputation of both is being called for.

One time years back when I was into custom PC building, rebuilding/upgrading and repair for other people.. I had ammased so much old leftover crap including monitors and printers that things were the same way. One night about 10AM I stubbed my toe like that on some of the shit. I'm that kind of person that is always good natured until I reach a point. That night I did; and went berserk. In the middle of the night I started hauling ALL of that stuff out of my house and threw it in the dumpster.. filled the bastard up. I must have tossed at least a grand or two of stuff away and never gave it a second thought. I've never missed it.

Somebody better take this stuff from me.. before I lose it (in more ways than one).

Should be done soon. Keep those offers coming. I'm 90% certain that this stuff is going to sell right here in this forum though.

On a side note.. does anybody have ANY suggestions as to how.. or who to use.. to send this stuff? USPS is of course, out of the question. UPS would cost a fortune and fedEx are a total bunch of fukkups so I refuse to use them. Does anybody remember some kind of "heavy volume" shipper advertising in banners on eBay a year or so ago? (you know.. the kind of people that would ship arcade units cross-country and such?)

One of my problems is that most of this stuff is packed in solid heavy cardboard barrels. These barrels I got from where I worked and they are about 1/3 as tall as a 55 gallon drum and about 2/3 the diameter. They're strong (I can stand on them and I'm 200 lbs) and they have metal lids and lockable metal retaining rings on them (I've posted pictures of them before in the forum.. usually in threads about storage). They're actually empty dessicant packet barrels.. bone dry as a result.. plus they're airtight. They also nest on top of each other quite nicely. I'd like to send everything in them.. but I may have trouble with a commercial shipper like UPS.

Found that pic! This is why my games don't "stink".

I'd recommend DHL. They ship me my Dell stuffs, and I haven't had a problem with them.

Nice set of games, wish I had the money that would be needed to afford all of that...good luck with the sale.

Bump for a local you almost fell to the 3rd page.

sorry i never got back to you after i ran into you at game crazy a while back, lifes been kinda non stop since then, aparently for both of us. i still feel bad about it though.

sorry about your mom as well i know what its like (Grand-parent and Aunt the same way) after seeing them go i would opt out for treatment as well because they prolonged the agony, they had a few good weeks at the begining but then it was real bad for a real long time.

any way who knows there may be a time in the future to collect again, their will certianly be more to collect as time goes on.

well if i had money i would make an offer but i am curious at the same time about something.

whats a "Super Famicon Twin"?

whats a "Super Famicon Twin"?

That was my mistake. It's actually called an FC Twin. One of these HERE (http://www.estarland.com/NintendoSuper.product.28392.html).

When I sold off my NES top-loader awhile back, then my SNES, then my "toaster" and lastly my SNES II I realized I had nothing to play my NES & SNES games on anymore (Not that big as I sold off most of my NES games anyway). I kept my CDX; and sold off most of my Genny consoles as well.

At the time.. I decided to try and reduce the "footprint" of my consoles and this "clone" seemed the perfect solution (Plus I also liked that it came in black to match everything else better).

I've read reviews and opinions vary on it's performance. "Purists" complain about the SNES emulation's sound quality, but I doubt that I'd even notice.

I thought I was going to have to pick up another SMS along the way as well.. but I was delighted to hear a couple of weeks ago that my SMS convertor will work on my CDX as well (Though it fits kind of awkwardly). The only SMS game I kept was Phantasy Star so buying an entire console would have been a waste. I must have sold two dozen consoles in the last four months.. but at least I have the means to still play any game in the collection.

Any collecting I do in the future will be only in last gen consoles. I realized last night that I still will have approximately 75 PS2 games, 50 Xbox and 25 Gamecube. 150 games is still more than enough to keep me satisfied.

On a side note to those waiting on the pictures.. I'm still working on everything. The complete list of hardware & accessories is bigger than I thought, and the game list is getting a little bigger as well. I will finish this weekend.. come hell or high water.

An accurate and final count/inventory was finished today. I'm recompiling and revising the list of everything and I will repost a list of consoles & accessories tomorrow. The IGN collection list has been updated, everything in it is present and included for sure. Pictures are almost done as well. I won't dare post the pictures here (too many) so I'll probably link to a Photobucket folder.

Final count:

450 games over 18 platforms
20 separate consoles
TONS-o'-other crap

Hmmm.. I just noticed a copy of Metal Warriors sold on evilBay last week for over $100! Maybe the market's coming back.
