millenium 2000 N64 controller info?

i bought this controller today because i had never seen one. i spent more than i feel its worth, but not much more(i paid $25). i was wondering if anyone knows anything about release numbers or how many people have one? im told it came from a nintendo power promotion, but i dont know if it was a giveaway or a 'buy a sub and get this' type deal. was there a system to accompany the controller?

It's worth much more than $25.

I would have bought it for more than that myself. It was a contest giveaway to random Nintendo Power entrants. I think less than 1,000 exist.

All depends on what someone is willing to pay for it. I see eBay costs of between $75-100 for it. I paid $200 for mine.
