I'm not sure if this should be in Modern gaming or not, since it includes some of the newer consoles.
I've noticed the money I spend on imports, and see some of the games that don't get a console port. I keep thinking, it would be much easier if some stuff got a US release.
Here is my wish list that will never been translated or released on a platform here: (I know some have import collections and such, but Im not counting those)
Karous
Trigger Heart Excelia
Esp. Ra. De.
Espgaluda
Espgaluda II
Princess Crown
Hyper Duel
Border Down
Under Defeat
The Rockman Adventure
Hokuto no Ken arcade
Dragon Force II
Sin and Punishment
Psyvariar 2: the will to fabricate
Sapphire
Radiant Silvergun (of Course)
Dodonpachi series
Ibara
Wolf Fang
Panzer Bandit
Cotton II
Cotton Boomerang
Alachest (sfc game published by square, very unique and rare)
The YS remakes
Dracula X: Rondo of Blood
Salamander 2
Dream Mix TV: world Fighters
Star Soldier Remake
Trizeal
Bahamut Lagoon
Berserk :millenieum Falcon (that won't get released here ever due to the extreme violence)
I think that ends my wish list... You guys/gals have anything to add, do so!

Rent A Hero! They promised us that Xbox version for so long... I was livid. The original one for Mega Drive would've been nice too.
Atlus RPGs: Shin Megami Tensei, SMT2, SMT If..., Persona 2: Innocent Sin, Devil Summoner, Soul Hackers, etc. It really pissed me off when Atlus USA would bring out crap like Virtual Hydlide but leave out the good stuff like Devil Summoner.
Sega Gaga would've been perfect for the final US Dreamcast release.
Real Sounds would've been so cool, especially because a fan translation is almost impossible.
Cosmic Fantasy 3
Dragon Force II
Shining Force III Scenarios 2 and 3 and Premium Disc
Baroque
Sakura Taisen series
Shadowrun (mega cd)
Mother 3
Yeah, these are almost all RPGs, but that's because I don't mind importing other stuff. It never personally affected me that much if some shooter did or didn't come out here (unless it's for a system that's not import friendly), but language heavy games are big.

Well I'd like a re-release of SNATCHER to the PS2 or XBOX, and I'd riot in the streets for Policenaughts to get a domestic release; seeing as how the Petition of 1997 never got Konami to do jack. Aside from this there's a whole slew of arcade games I'd like to see released on compilation discs similar to that of Capcom and Taito's entries. But I'm thinking there aren't enough of us old schoolers left to make it profitable to the companies, which sadly means I have to depend on emulation, since buying PCB boards for the Super Gun isn't so much costly as it is hard to track down stuff.

Seeing as pretty much all of my games are Japanese, I don't miss out on much. What I would like to see is a compilation of Cave shooters that were never ported to a home system, like ESP Ra De, Dangun Feveron and Guwange. I doubt it would make it to the US, but I'm sure it would be a popular import.

Pretty much anything related to Earthbound and that Capcom Namco X game or whatever its called. I would also like to see the Idaki Street Special games as well.

A direct port of the Super Famicom game, Tales of Phantasia. I know there was one on the GBA, but I heard it was slightly different than the original.

Old games I wish were/would be released in the USA:
Star Ocean
Terranigma
Far East of Eden (all)
Dragon Force II
Shining Force III scenario 2 & 3
Seiken Densetsu III
Dragon Quest V & VI
Mother 1 & 3
Cosmic Fantasy 1, 3, & 4
oh did I mention Star Ocean...all 48 megs of it!
My list consist of RPG's because I can't read Japanese and these games are text heavy and I can't play them :(

I read on Empire's (Taito Legends developers) homepage that it already was. That's one I want to get my hands on, too.

There's not much I'd want honestly, since I'm just as happy importing a game in most cases, so it makes little difference to me if a game doesn't get a US release.
Mainly, I just want Chulip, which Natsume delayed yet again, but at least this time it's only for a few days. Hopefully come next week I'll be playing it.
There have only been a handful of games I've imported where the language was a serious barrier to me, although I suppose that number could have been higher if some of the tricky imports I've played didn't have FAQs. I never was able to beat Hiouden on Super Famicom, and I suspect language is partially to blame (I know there's a patch out now, but I'm not interested in emulation). I also just recently had to give up on Nanatsu Kaze no Shima Monogatari since I couldn't get through it without a FAQ. Not only that, but I don't think I was enjoying it as much as I would have if I was fluent in Japanese.

Man this just made my whole night. I'd heard that it got the axe for a domestic release... of course it sucks that two of Taito's greatest arcade games didn't make it onto Vol. #2 (The Ninja Warriors & L.S.A. Squad), and it's doubtful a Volume #3 is coming out after it. :(

Dude, I understand where you are coming from on that. And Snatcher? I had to get a burned copy b/c the ebay demand price is outrageous! If a game that sells for over $75... The developers should realize "hmm, we could remake this on a new gen console for like $20 bucks."

I'm with you on being miffed on why more companies (namely Konami in this case) don't see the need to re-release stuff that have cult followings in the states for games that didn't get released before... and it only took forever to get Konami to change their tune about the PCE "Rondo of Blood" game. Though in the case of SNATCHER or Policenaughts I've always understood this to be Hideo Kojima's fault. The dude always states stuff like: "I'm not interested in going back, I want to move foward." Despite the fact his American fans clamor for it. In fact I'm totally of the belief that the only reason the two MSX entries of the pre-Solid "Metal Gear" games finally saw the light of day in the US was because Konami decided to do it. And then they slapped us die hards on MG 2: Solid Snake by giving us the Japan Only "Mobile Phone" version with the Solid-esque character redesigns versus the Hollywood rip offs we came to love.
But beggars can't be choosers on things like this. Re-Releasing or even 1st time releasing older games a committed demographic would prolly buy TWO copies of (one for play and one for collection purposes) at $20.00 a pop just makes too much sense I guess.

Dollars to donuts that it's going to be published by Empire Interactive, who did the last one.

SEGA released "Taito Legends" Vol. 1, and I've never heard of Empire Interactive, so this means I probably shouldn't get my hopes up too high. :( I'm of the I'll believe it when I see it mentality concerning this already elusive title stateside.
EDIT: *DOH!*
~checking my Taito Legend Vol.1 I now see that Empire did the compiler and SEGA released it, guess SEGA didn't want to publish it this time. Misread your last statement as a question without the question mark Three-P. Sorry 'bout that.
