Hey,

Thanks to everybody who helped me problem solve the marker on the back of my NES carts, for the record

windex: worked for 90% of the marking but there are still faint markings. Tonight i'm going to try the Mr. Clean pen and maybe some lighterfluidish type stuff.

Moving on to the subject of this post, I am wondering what you people with serious NES libraries use for storage. Right now im at the point where all 250 of my games, mostly R-1 through R-3 games, are in those hard plasic cases that nintendo made (for rental places?). some are in the black dust sleeves. The jones about these "rental" cases are that even in the clear ones you cant really see what game it is and in the blue, yellow or pink ones, forget about it. So I guess my question is what is the best way to simmultaniously display and protect your/a NES library?

Thanks,
Malk

I find cd racks work perfectly since nes games are just about as wide as a cd is tall so they fit in those well

Glad to hear the windex worked and I would try a CD rack as well unless you can get your hands on some of those official nintendo game holders they would work the best, but then again that is exactly what they are made for.

I strongly recommend the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. These took permanent marker of a bunch of carts I snagged this past weekend. It is 100% gone. Phenomenal product!

i did the same with my nes games. goto walmart and buy one of those big plastic things with the 3 draws in it. each compartment holds about 100 games.

also what is r1-r3??

I ran into this site awhile back. They use old video store cases that you can buy new on the web. I’ve started using them for N64 and Snes. The Nes project is a little slower getting going but it’s worth a look.

If you're talking cart only, I personally love the official Nintendo display racks for games. There were a bunch of them. Yeah, the carts are exposed and they can get dusty, but this is certainly not damage. I've stored games like this for years, you wipe the dust off, and they look brand new. You also have easy access to the games in case you want to play them. Here are the ones I have. They also hold SNES, and the games can be in the official sleeves and covers if you have them. The units are also stackable.

I guess it would take a lot of hunting to find space for 250 games though. At that point you might want to just build a custom shelf....
