I want to buy a new baseball game this year for PS2, but since my EGM subscription ran out a couple months ago I've been out of the new release loop. At the EB tonight I saw Slugfest, All-Star Baseball, and MLB MVP Baseball. Which one is worth the $50?

I hate to say this, but I agree with Eternal Tune. MVP is by far the best of the baseball games on the PS2 this year. All Star has a very deep franchise mode, but the mechanics of the game are the same as the last couple of years. It hasn't been improved at all. MLB 2004 sucks, MLB Slugfest isn't really baseball, and something about World Series 2K3 struck me as odd. It was my favorite last year, but it just didn't do anything for me this year.

MVP is a complete turnaround from the past couple of crapfests known as
Triple Play Baseball. It has a really good mix of Sim & Arcade style without losing anything. And you can get in a game pretty quick. The Franchise mode is not as deep as All Star or WSB 2K3, though. If you are a complete baseball stat freak, get WSB 2K3, if you just love to play the game, get MVP.

I don't know for sure which is the best, but here's my review of All-Star Baseball 2004 (http://ps.vgf.com/reviews/asb2004/index.htm).
