View Full Version : Final Zone II... UGH!

I just got through playing Final Zone II on my TurboDuo and all I have to say is this game has got to have THE worst voice acting I've ever heard. Not only do the characters sound like they were robots (they had absolutely no inflection in their voices), but the actors sound like they're reading directly off a script they'd never seen before. They didn't even bother changing the cut scenes form the Japanese version since the voices don't even come close to matching the mouth movements. The voices were also very slow with lots of awkward pauses "So... It Looks Like... I'll Have to... Kill You". Towards the end of the game I was just grinning and suffering through the truely horrible acting.

And to top it off, the game was too damn short! I beat it in less than an half an hour and didn't die once. How did this stinker get past the QA guys?

I'm still waiting for someone to explain what my mission is supposed to be in final zone 1.

Wait a sec, was Final Zone that cheesy mech game for the Genesis? There was a sequel to it? Oh, man... forget about the voice. Just hearing that they turned it into a series is depressing enough!
Seriously, though, how does it compare to Last Alert in the voice acting department? That was another Turbografx-16 dud featuring spoken (and broken) dialogue. It's a wonder that it didn't gain the cult following that Zero Wing had.
