What do you believe is not real? Not licensed - that is true. A device that allows NES games to be played on a SNES - believe it yo :)

I have a Super 8 converter for my SNES which allows the user to play:
SNES
Super Famicom
NES
Famicom

I am currently using it right now to play Recca.

The SNES was originally designed for downward compatibility, so it's plausible. That's why they used a 65c816 processor while the rest of the world was using 68000's. The only other machine I know of that used that CPU was the Apple IIGS, again for downward compatibility with the old 6502 machines.

I think I remember reading that the SNES graphics chip contains a NES compatible mode, but I have no idea about the sound.

This looks more like an import adapter - one slot for a local-region game (for the lockout circuitry), and one for your imported game.

I have a Tristar also and there is no way that this little device could support a NES game like the Tristar/Super 8 can.

I agree with FABombjoy it is an adaptor for out of region carts.

Yep, thats a converter to play japanese/US games on a PAL machine. I have a few ones myself :)
