View Full Version : ROCKMAN (MEGA MAN) or PULSEMAN?

While it's kind of unfair to ask this question since PULSEMAN only got one game by Sega late in the Mega Drive's life (appearing only on the Sega Channel in the US) I'm curious what you peeps here at Digital Press have to say on this? Who's overall "Cool" factor did you dig?

ROCKMAN (MEGA MAN)
*this includes the "X" versions
of him

OR...

*with his running electrical shock powers,
electronically entering cyberspace and
morphing around.

And for those of you who might not have played PULSEMAN (which surely deserved a sequel), which would you choose purely off of their character designs? I've always been a Rockman fan, more to the point Rockman X, but once I discovered PULSEMAN I was hooked and don't understand why SEGA dropped the character. At least two more games could've been done to carry his adventures onward. Heck moreso than Rockman/Mega Man with his Cyberpunkish capabilities, Pulseman could've made the transistion to a 3-D action-adventure game a lot easier as well.

1st Vote: +1 for PULSEMAN! http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w318/50s_Brawler/Bogart.gif

Pulseman all the way. The character isn't as immediately appealing, but his game does a lot of cool things with the Mega Man template that not a lot of other games do.

Not to mention that it's exceptionally trippy. That last stage...man...

I have to wonder if it's Sega or Game Freak that holds the rights to it, actually...

I like both of them, personally.

For those wondering more about Pulseman, here is a website a buddy of mine runs about it:

Pulseman is awesome. That was a fun, fun game.

I can't say no to Megaman though. So I chose both.

While Megaman has obviously had more exposure, Pulseman has a special place in my heart because Sega Channel was great.

And if Sega has the rights to Pulseman, *beats Sega over the head with the hint, hint* he'd make a good addition to Sega Genesis Collection 2...

If Game Freak has the rights to Pulseman *beats Nintendo over the head with the hint, hint* he'd make a good addition to the DS platformer library...

I'd love to find the original Megadrive cart... but I can dream...

It's the only reason I even bother with emulators, really.

It's not really that hard to find. I think I paid about $30 shipped for mine all minty-mint. Though this was a few years ago before Megadrive prices started rocketing skyward...

Maybe I'm not looking hard enough... the only imports I see around here are Dreamcast, mostly. If someone finds a cheap Pulseman (say, $50 or less - cart only OK), I'll be more than happy to buy or trade for it.

What...?

If we're including X, then why aren't we including the other, LAMER Mega Mans/Men? I'm just assuming those are included also if we're going to bother including X, as X and the original Mega Man are completely different characters.

With that being said, Pulseman is the cooler character. If it was just between the original Mega Man and Pulseman, I'd have gone with the former.
