Has anyone played this game before? Its for the NES/Famcom System. It seems like a pretty cool game. Does anyone know if there are any codes for more lives? It only gives you 5 lives at a time. I remember for the original superC and the regular contra that there were codes for more lives. Does anyone know how to find codes for a game like this? It isnt a game that was sold in stores and I have tried searching all over the internet to find codes but havent had any luck. If anyone knows any information about this game as far as codes go please let me know. Thanks.

most emulators have an advanced cheat finder where you can make your own cheats (like a sophisticated game genie/par) takes a little practice but infinate lives codes are pretty easy to make. although if you're playing with an actual famicom cart of it thats a bit more dificult, as the gg or par don't work well with famicom carts. if you can make a code on the emu you can transfer it to gg or par format and use that.

Are you talking about the Super Nintendo port of Contra to Famicom? If so, i've played it :)

It's a really crappy pirate original. Well, not crappy, just insanely hard.

Ya its not a port of super nintendo. That one is super contra 3. This one is a based off of the original SuperC for regular NES. Its really hard you only get 5 lives at a time thats why I was wondering if there was a code for it. I had a guy transfer it from a rom to a cart for my nes so I could play it. Is there any way to find codes that are in the game itself so I wouldnt need a game genie?

There's a ton of Contra pirates; most are multi-carts but some have original content (I use that term loosely). We're working on getting information about them onto the web @ the Contra HQ (don't look yet, though).

Is there a way to see if there are any cheats coded into the game? If there is which program can you use on the rom?

Depends if the game uses memory locations the same as other games (especially probable if it is a straight hack of another game, but Super Contra 7 seems to be a mix of all sorts of things), if you want to do it easily. As far as programs, well yes, the usual hacker tools will work. It won't be terribly easy though.

I remember playing this one for fun and ended up with a big headache. I could barely get past the first level with savestats and if I remember correctly, the first boss was almost impossible.

Pics (screen grabs, photos off the TV) please. I'd like to see this for my own curiousity sake since I collect oddities/hacks of all kinds for both my Famicom and Mega Drive as well as MVS Neo:Geo and have never heard of this one. I've currently got Samurai Spirits II, Super Mario World, and Street Fighter II for the Fami and Tekken Special and K.O.F. 98' on MD. Then "King of Gladiator" for Neo Geo. *If you could post some pics of Contra 7 it be mucho appreciated, more to the point the cartridge and/or box if you have those, or is it on some kind of multi cart?

Could this be some sort of blend of content from Operation C for the Game Boy (or even the Game Boy port of Contra III) ? I recall that the Famicom port of Donkey Kong Country looked like it was derived from the Game Boy version.

If SC7 is the one I'm thinking of, yes, the first boss is pretty hard, but I did it.

Contra '93 (or something) is way...worse. All sorts of bizzare oddities with the way Contra uses tiles and water appear.

Ya the first boss is pretty hard. I made it all the way to level 3 but thats as far as I can get. Thats why I was looking for some cheat codes. I noticed at the menu screen if you dont hit start right away and it goes to demo videos of the game it shows 2 players and they each have like 48 or 49 lives thats what kind of got me thinking about the cheat codes. There have to be some out there. Is there anyone out there that knows how to get these codes off of the roms? It would be awesome if they could. I can post screen shots tomorrow if you guys are interested.

I'll post some screenshots later today but there has to be at least some cheat codes for this game. I mean they only give you 5 lives.

Aha, this is the game I was thinking of then.

I noticed when playing this a while back that the demo players will continue playing even while losing tons of lives. The count actually carries over to the next demo. Finally, one of the players will lose all his lives and stop appearing. Once the other loses all of his, I think it will reset them and both demo players will appear again. It's definitely trippy. Unfortunately, it's useless as a cheat (the only demo cheat I've found was in Heretic, which has a really cool bug, but that's neither here nor there).

Wow! That looks really cool! Does it play well, or is it choppy and shitty like most "pirate originals?"

And just our of curiosity, did you try the famous Konami code or the 10 lives code for Super C?

My thoughts exactly. Looks like I'll be calling my Hong Kong connection on this one, meaning I've got to go back to the hell again. Damn... DAMN, DAMN!

To Blllunttman:

Thanks for putting up those photos Blllunttman. What color is the Famicom Cart or shape though? Did your game come with the box too or was it a loose cart? I don't care what anyone says, I've always loved collecting bootleg/hacks of stuff like this, none are worth anything (or the money paid to acquire them) but I like them in amongst my legit collection. That really does look like an interesting game, and if this game is as hard as say "Contra Spirits" on the Hardest difficulty... well then I gotta' track this one down.

I think originally it was on a famicom multi cart. What I did was had the rom put on an NES cartridge by a reproduction guy. He does NES cartridge reproductions for proto games that were never released and homebrew games. As for how the game plays it actually plays really well. I dont think i've seen it glitch at all like the couple that were in the original contra. I'll have to try the superc code and see if that works. This game is tough though. I made it to the 4th level yesterday but its hard man. If anyone is able to figure out any codes for this game please let me know. Thanks.

Hi. If you want some types of cheats for this game, go to gscentral.org and type in Super Contra 7. It will provide you Game genie and Pro Action Replay/Action Replay (forget which one, but it can also be put into FCEU emulator). Hopefully, you should have either cheat device. If you don't, I'm afraid you must beat it the hard way, which is actually the fair way :P. You can also try using a Hack tool for the ROM or something, like it was suggested before.

Oh and sorry to bump this, just wanted to help out.

If you just hold A or B when pressing START to start the game, you'll start with 50 lives instead of 5. It works in a two-player game, too. If you hold both A and B, you get a screen that looks like it might be the credits.
