What happened to the Shining Force series? I love this series and for some reason sega is not producing anymore games in that series because they are too busy messing with phantasy star instead. Like with Shining Force 3 for the saturn. North America only got part one of the story while Japan got all 3 parts of Shining Force 3. Why can't they release the other parts on one of the new systems now. And now they have the Shining Soul series on Game Boy Advance but they too are only in Japan. I just dont understand sega sometimes. Shining force would sell well if they would just release it again over here. What are your opinions?

I've got the JAP only Saturn Shining Force releases, just waiting for them to get translated so I can patch the .iso's.

Count me in as one of the first in line if they ever released a Shining Force for ps2/xbox/GC/GBA.. whatever. I just want a new one! :D

Just get Golden Sun instead. It's by the same company, and practically indistinguishable from the Shining series.
Personally, I didn't care for Shining Force, or any of its spinoffs and sequels. The game in the series that really bothered me was Shining Wisdom, which featured everything from an overly silly Working Designs translation to an annoying play mechanic that forced you to hammer a run button in order to make your character "shift gears", so to speak. Bump into an enemy while at full speed and you're back to walking at a snail's pace. Now that's what I call lame.

Uhh... are you sure you're talking about Shining Force? Shining Force is a battle Strategy game just like Military Madness, Advance Wars, Vandal Hearts, and the like. Some of the shining force's do have RPG elements while others are just pretty much pure battles. They may be of the same lineage.. but Shining Force and Shining Wisdom have about as much to do with each other gameplay-wise as do Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy Tactics :)

Actuall, Advance Wars is a lot more like Shining Force than Golden Sun is. GS is just a solid, straightforward RPG.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. :P

I think that our post-happy friend meant to say that Golden Sun is an unofficial member of the "Shining" series of RPGs: Shining in the Darkness, Shining the Holy Ark, Shining Wisdom, and so forth.

Shining Force is actually my favorite of the Shining franchise. We were lucky to get any of Shining Force III on the American Saturn, but it's a shame that parts 2 and 3 were never ported to the Dreamcast or something.

I like to say "Shining." Shining Blade! Shining Gundam! Shining FIN-GAAA!!

Sega = shoot self in foot with best franchises

I love em to death, but they're dumb when it comes to using their best stuff. DUMB!

I'll say.

Shinobi.
Shinobi is out on the PS2
WHY DIDN"T SEGA HAVE THAT READY FOR THE DC?

And ALL the other "Series" they have. Make one good game, and then rather than make more, just rehash the same one for a while.

Sega's had so many ideas for good franchises and characters, but always seem to just decide to stop making them for no apparent reason.
