Has anyone started getting cracks in the center of their discs? While taking it out of the PS2 earlier I heard a little cracking sound and inspected the disc and it's getting hairline cracks through it and when pressure is placed on the edges I can see bigger cracks forming from the center. Is there a known issue with any PS2 discs cracking from over-use?

HDloader has my GH2 disk in mint condition...
I have noticed one of my discs forming hairline cracks at the center. I believe this is due to inserting the disc into the case. Since noticing this, I have been more careful when returning the disc. I now press in the middle tabs as I put the disc on.

Haven't seen this with any PS2 discs....but I had some CD-R's from Memorex a few years back that started doing this.

I can honestly recall never having that happen with any game, ever.
Generally, though, that is the weakest part of the disc, and the one that sees the most contact (spindle, case, etc) so I could see it happening.

Well, that's the odd thing, I've never had a problem with any of my CDs cracking like this. I talked to my older brother and he went all off on me for accusing him of mishandling discs. I wouldn't doubt it was him that is breaking it but still, it's not like we're knocking the thing around.

I've handled several DVD with this issue, caused by crappy packaging. The disc holder thing? It was too tight, and when I took out the discs... crack.
