I don't know if this has been discussed here yet, it bugs me so much when people say "WiiMote", every game says Wii Remote or just remote

does this bug anyone else? What do you all prefer?

I hate the term "Wiimote". I just call it a controller. That's what it is, after all.

Well at least I'm in the slight majority according to the poll. I refer to it as the WiiMote, and attribute most of my reasoning to laziness. Let's face it, it's easier to say. It contains one word instead of two, and only has two syllables instead of three. I rest my case.

I usually call it Wiimote, simply because it's faster than anything else. I don't really care about it though...

I'll usually call it a Wiimote in conversation just for timing and flow, but when i'm writing my reviews it's always Wii Remote as that is the offical name for the product.

I like 'wiimote' because it's easier to say in conversation.

Plus, I'm a guy who loves efficiency.:wink 2:

I knew this would come up at sometime. (my server hasn't let me connect to DP since October *gasp*). I'm always talking about the Wii to people and whenever I use the term "Wiimote", people say "huh?" I guess I've called it a Wiimote ever since Nintendo referred to it as such. It's a weird console so I guess it's all good.

Has to be Wiimote. Just flows off the tongue naturally. Wiimote-controlled.

Wii Remote. For some reason Wiimote sounds totally stupid to me.

Wiimote from me. I don't really know why, just because I do I guess. But either way, it doesn't really bug me.

WiiMote as it's easier to say. Can't really just say remote, and Wii Controller is kinda lame. The system name is bad enough and it might as well carry over to the controller.

I don't call it either of those.

I call it a Wii controller. I always refer to controllers with the native console name as the prefix ie Saturn controller, Playstation controller, Dreamcast controller, etc. If they do a revision on the Wii controller then I may have to have different names for them like on NES with the brick and the dog-bone or on Genesis with the three button and the six button.
