View Full Version : Are there any clear boxes to put GBA boxes / stuff in?

You know how some collectors have clear plastic boxes to hold their complete games in, right? (See the Dragon Warrior thread in Classic gaming for an example.)

Well, I'm interested in buying a few of those, but for my GBA game boxes. I keep all my carts in those 3-game thingies, but I want some plastic cases for my boxes so they don't get crushed or anything.

Can anyone help me with that? :)

(I'd also like to get some DS cases to use pictures from that Cover Project site, but that's a ways in the future.)

Couldn't you use some of the old nintendo rental boxes and just cut tabs out?

As far as I know (and Bronty would probably attest as well) those plastic cases were only made in NES & SNES sizes. Having said that.. the SNES ones I have will also fit most Genesis boxes/cases and Atari Jaguar boxes. So if you take one of your GBA boxes and find they're the same size or close to either a NES box or SNES one and you'd be comfortable with the fit.. that's probably your best hope.

They also sold those sleeves in VHS tape size.. but that would probably be the least workable one for you. Those sleeves were manufactured back in the era when rental stores rented out VHS tapes and 16-bit games. They're not even produced anymore.. and the GBA came long after.

I bought a rare sealed GB game from Bronty recently and when I recieved it, I was surprised to see one of the thin plastic protective cases.. While not exactly what you speak of (its exactly like the NES cases that hold boxed or complete games that fold down), its probably your best alternative.

So the one you had is like the old ones the video rental stores had SNES and NES boxes in? Thin plastic but fairly stiff and super-clear? Those are EXACTLY what I need for my GBA collection. I actually went around and bought a bunch of those from old video stores for my SNES games back in the day ;)
