Canada uses 120V power like the United States. Canada also uses the NTSC signal standard for their television sets. Bottom line: you should have no problem importing and using game systems from the Great White North :).

If something says NTSC on it, you're fine and no converter required. If it's got FCC information on it, you're fine as well. Questionable things, most of the time just wikipedia or google it and you're good to go. :)

Yep they work the same that is why you see some PS2 games with an extra set of French instructions.

You have to make sure you leave your air conditioning on when using the Canadian system since they are manufactured to be used in a cold and snowy environment.

And if you run it through your VCR you'll have to change the clock.

Thats only because of the 23 hour clock that we use up here

Don't forget everything is in metric too, so you'll need a metric system.

Also, keep in mind that all Canadian gaming consoles convert all titles to some form of hockey game. You have to have a modchip to bypass it.

I forgot about that! Everything's supercooled up there so by default all Canadian console CPU's are overclocked.

Also, Canada is north of the US. So make sure you face the console UP while playing it.

you're also obligated to play the game in French only. It adds an extra new level of challenge to Animal Crossing and the Final Fantasy series.

Instead of the ESRB, all games must be moose approved. All discs must be able to withstand hits from hockey sticks. The games are translated so that games are in proper grammer, such as aboot=about, rooof=ruff. Games must be reinforced to withstand the 11 month long winters.

Yeah, I'm out of typical sterotypes for now.

All the games you get from Canada also have blatant Tim Hortons advertizing all over them.

Actually, the only thing different about Japanese consoles are the voltage. Japan uses the NTSC standard, too.

I've played this version. It's called "G.T., Eh?". The graphics are pretty solid, but between all the Bait Cars and the fact that the RCMP "always gets their man" the game is literally impossible to beat.

It is not. You just need to know the secret to always get let out of jail right away, no matter what the charge is reply "I was Drunk at the time" and they will let you go.
