Yeah, I'm sure it has been done (several times) but here goes:
1) Choro Q3 - PS (A racing game I could play every day forever and not get bored.)
2) Cielgris Fantasm - PS (Can try to get all the ending while waiting to be rescued.)
3) DonPachi - PS (I'm sure I'll be a danmaku master after a few years of this.)
4) Black/Matrix Cross - PS (A crazy deep tactical RPG)
5) Ore no Ryouri - PS (A cooking game that might satisfy my appetite while I eat bugs, roots and coconuts on the island)
(EDIT: I was going to put Monster Farm on this list, but it's just no fun without a pile of CD's to turn into critters.)

1: Adventure, Atari 2600. I can play this game over and over in one sitting.
2: Tunnels of Doom, TI-99/4A. Good early RPG that can really suck up the time.
3: Roadkill, GC/Xbox/PS2. I love vehicular combat, and I've played it through many times and still want to keep playing. Testament to a good game.
4: Phantasy Star Online, Dreamcast/GC. A great action RPG that can steal days away from you. I've got no idea how many hours I've put into this one.
5: Unreal Tournament, Dreamcast. I loved this game more than the computer version. I liked the controls better. Good single player mode.
Honorable mentions, near misses, and almost rans...
Midnight Mutants, Atari 7800. It's like taking the gameplay of Adventure and throwing in zombies, weaponry, and Grampa Munster. Classic, but not as much replayability as the other listed titles.
Tower of Doom, Intellivision. A good D&D type game with a lot of levels, but it wouldn't hold up to long term replayability.
Outlander, Genesis. Fun game, nice and long, and you get to shoot bikers with a shotgun out your car window!
Future Cop: LAPD, Mac/PS1. There's a strategy game mode that's fun as hell. I spent a lot of time on that one.
Carmageddon, Mac. Loved the original game, I played that game forever. A lot of interesting hacks and mods for it, too.
Mind Strike, Intellivision ECS. I love this game, but my ECS tends to crap out on me after ten minutes. It's sorta along the lines of Stratego, but with user definable boards and adjustable enemy AI.

I'm going to cheat a bit to max out the total amount of great games.
1) Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition (GC)
2) Mega Man Anniversary Collection (GC)
3) Metroid (NES)
4) Capcom's Soccer Shootout (SNES)
5) NHL '95 (SNES/Genesis)

World of Warcraft (Is this cheating?)
Unreal Tournament
Daggerfall
Ultima Collection (Cheating again probably)
Civilization Chronicles
Also, what about using the Dreamcast browser to call for help?

You would think to save room you should really limit everyone to one system but never mind. For me...
1. MVP Baseball 2005 (GameCube or XBox, I have both versions)--I never get tired of this, my favorite baseball game.
2. Super Punch-Out (SNES)
3. Super Mario World (SNES)--Gotta have a Mario World. Maybe I should get that cart that has Mario All-Stars and Super Mario World on it, too...just in case this scenario ever comes to be.
4. Super Metroid (SNES)
5. Mario Party 4 (if I have friends to play it with). If I'm all alone, I would replace this with a FPS game...maybe Medal of Honor: Frontline (GameCube).

Dead Rising -Xbox 360 ( I love this game, I can't seem to put it down)
Contra - NES (favorite game as a child)
Gran Turisimo 4 - PS2 (long game, so many possiblilties, I love the drag racing)
WCW/NWO: Revenge - N64 (favorite wrestling game)
NBA 2K3 - Xbox (something I can play over and over and never get bored)

If I was stranded on a desert island I hardly doubt there'd be an electricity in which to power anything up on. I would be trying to survive and manage a way off the island and making sure I had the provisions to sustain life. And if there was electricity to be had, I'd be looking for a telephone or Internet asscessible computer in which to contact someone of my whereabouts, so I could get back home.

Nah, desert island gaming is perfectly possible. After all, Leo had a pukka set-up in 'The Beach'. Just need biiiig batteries, solar panels and generators. I certainly wouldn't be trying to escape from my own desert island where we can brew alcohol, grow a field (or two) of pot and have weekend-long raves.
Anyways, I'd just be bringing the NeoGeo and the Dreamcast, and couple of arcade sticks for each.
1. Last Blade (maybe Last Blade 2, not sure)
2. Garou: Mark of the Wolves
3. Marvel vs Capcom 2
3. Guilty Gear X
5. Not too sure, maybe a shooter of some description like Metal Slug 3 or Under Defeat. Or maybe even Windjammers.

*Sonic 3 & Knuckles - Gotta have senseless fun.
*Panzer Dragoon Saga - Gotta have a great story.
*Snatcher - Can't have some great reading material.
*Seaman - Gotta have someone to talk to.
*World of War Craft - Gotta have a way to waste the rest of my life. Not that I play WoW, but I would if I were stranded on a Desert Island.

Here's my Desert Island picks:
Sega Genesis Collection
Sega Classics Collection
Metal Slug Anthology
Capcom Classics Collection
Capcom Classics Collection Vol. 2
That should hold me until I escape (would I want to?) or until I'm rescued.

1. Pick Axe Pete - Odyssey2. This game rocks!
2. Ultima Collection - PC. Because Ultima IV is good for the soul, and the others ain't bad either. Shame about the overly revamped Ultima I though.
3. Dune 2000 - Win98+ PC. When I feel like being in someone's base, killin' their d00dz.
4. Namco Museum 1 - PS1. Pac-Man and Galaga = peanut butter and jelly for my gamer reflexes. I could eat 'em every day.
5. Katamari Damacy - PS2. For when I desperately need to smile because I'm stuck on a freakin' island. (Dude.)
I can only assume that the Dharma Initiative is ponying up for electricity on these and I'll need to hit "pause" every 108 minutes. :monkey:
I was seriously tempted to list nothing but compilations, just for variety's sake, but I decided to limit myself to two of them. Hopefully that's not a huge gob of cheating there.

1.X-com UFO Defence(ps1)
2.Oblivion(360)
3.Elder Scrolls: Morrowind(xbox)
4.Sega Genesis Collection(ps2)
5.Final Fantasy 12(ps2)
Only games I can think that I would play at the moment.

Desert Isle What Ifs.......... (ALREADY LOCKED) (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=57278&highlight=desert+island)
So I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread, since I've pointed out two other still-open threads regarding this same issue - both top 5 and top 1. Hopefully, the Nazi-screamers will be satisfied that my rationale is sound for the lock and that I have provided more than enough other identical threads to post in. Thanks!
