I have missed these before, I will not make the same mistake again! This will be my third multicart(Astrocade and Odyssey 2), and I am very happy that I got one! Thanks for the heads up

I'm sorry, but the first thing that came to mind was "R.Kelly has his own multicart?!" Aheh.

These sean kelly carts are so elusive. Just by chance I spotted the auction yesterday as there is no notice. If you don't buy when he sells chances are you will be paying alot more.

If you note the buyers, you will see them selling speculatively soon..

So, can someone give me some background on these? I've met Sean, and been to his store. But, did he design these?

In his auction he states that he has gotten permission from the man the owns the rights to the games . they must have some type of production deal because the carts are top quality down to the label. The only thing missing is the overlays.
I think that they strategically release on a limited basis as to not flood the market and keep it going.

Yes. He designed the circuit board and has it professionally manufactured. He also wrote the menu software. He always seems to have them available when I mention them to him (definitely at the shows like CGE). I think he lists a bunch on Ebay when he notices people trying to selling them for $200 or something... They've always been $70.

I don't think that there are any copyrights on Vectrex games, which is why he is able to make them. Something about them being public domain now.
At least thats what I remember.

They aren't public domain, but Jay Smith (the copyright owner) has granted the gaming community permission to copy the code in a not-for-profit capacity (and has given Sean permission to sell the multi-cart).

Well it wasnt markup per se, it was a low open no reserve auction.
At least two yuks thought it was rare enough to push $300...
Expect a few more to be listed pronto...I should pop down to Sean's and get some. He always seems to have some somewhere , even if the ebay auction sold out...
I wish he would make 300 at a crack ....

Just grabbed one! I'm so pumped, this means I won't be spending nearly as much on my Vectrex collection (for the time being at least). Anyone play any of the homebrews? I've never emulated any Vectrex stuff, from pics I've seen online they look pretty neat.
