3 new characters announced for Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Samus Aran's greatest rival will be joining the Super Smash Brothers Brawl roster, as well as pint-sized versions of Mario's most formidable foe and Hyrule's hero of time.

SSBB director Masashiro Sakurai made the announcement via Japanese radio program The Gaming Show that Metroid mega-boss Ridley, Bowser Jr. and the Wind Waker version of Link have been added as new members to the Super Smash Brothers Brawl combatant list. The newly added triad join the other first-timers making an appearance in the Nintendo brawler -- Metal Gear Solid hero Solid Snake, Meta Knight, Wario, and Zero Suit Samus.

Getting the boot with this iteration of the Super Smash Brothers series are Young Link, the Ice Climbers, and Mr. Game and Watch. Sakurai expects a roster of 40 characters to fill the game, with other non-Nintendo characters joining the fray still a possibility.

IT sucks that Mr. Game and Watch is getting the boot but that's okay, it still looks like it will be a great game, I am pumped it's the main game that really excited me about a Wii and I will buy one mainly for this game though :D

Correction: New SSBB Characters

Late last night, we posted a news article mentioning new Super Smash Bros. Brawl characters, including Wind Waker Link and Metroid villain Ridley. This was actually an old rumor that found its way into our news stream. Nintendo has not announced any new Brawl characters since the E3 announcements of Pit, Wario, Solid Snake, Meta Knight and Zero Suit Samus.

We removed the article early this morning and apologize to all of our readers for any confusion this may have caused.

If they took out Ice Climbers and Mr. Game & Watch for real, I'd be pissed, especially G&W, who is one of my mains.
